Heretic
Highest-grossing movie in France = Bienvenue chez les Ch'tits : $194mGiven both countries have equivalent populations (65m inhabitants in France, 62m in France) we can assert UK can do better than Skyfall. But we'll have to wait a very long time for this to happen.Depends on exchange rate though. It's rather weak now. Had this made £100m in 2007/08, we'be looking at around or just over $200m.

JCS
Hmm, ROTG will do better on the actual weekend obviously which is why it is #4 on Friday but still not holding as well as Puss in Boots; but may do better later on as it has Xmas theme. Heretic
It was bound to happen, but still. Pre-sales are looking really promising around my area.Could top The Avenger's opening I think.
SchumacherFTW
Any sellouts nearby for 24/48/3D for you dude?
Heretic
2D evening show is very close to sellout. 3D isn't selling as well, about half full, and they added 48 late at my cinema for some reason so pre-sales are lower for that, but it's in the biggest screen and will definitely sell out when opening day comes. They release the full schedule on Tuesday, but right now, each format only has a few showtimes. I expect 25-30 shows a day when the rest of the showtimes are added.I really think walk up's are going to be huge for The Hobbit though, more so than most other big releases this year.IMAX is full for most of the weekend as expected. Jonwo
ROTG had a very good drop so not surprising that it gained the top spot but Skyfall is still chugging along nicely, I imagine it'll possibly dip under £1m next week due to the Hobbit but I wouldn't be surprised if it does remain around £1m or so.The Hobbit should have a good OW, I think if it matches Avengers OW which was 4 day and 3D, it'll be a great start. JCS
I am not sure The Hobbit OW will be that big. Everyone will not rush to see it as there is the whole Xmas and New Year holidays to watch it so people will spread out the gross with long legs.
