Dr. Dolittle Do Very Little but not that Little.

Recommended Posts

Deadline: Universal’s very costly talking animals movie Dolittle is in its second official weekend overseas after a strong start in Korea last session (it is now at $10.6M there). The current overall frame was worth $17.2M in 42 markets for a $27.3M international cume before a host of majors chime in. The UK, Spain, Germany, Italy, Mexico, France, Brazil, Russia, China and Japan are all yet to come.

That's pretty good start in UK, isn't it?

i think previews from last week were counted to for that.

Looks like a poor hold, understandable with Sonic releasing. I think all important markets opened, except china, but should get to 210m or so.

Deadline:  This expensive Universal talking animals pic continues to extend its legs overseas with an $11M weekend bolstered by school holidays. That takes it to $129.7M international and $204.1M global. Russia ($3.9M) and Brazil ($700K) were new this session. The top market so far (before Japan in March and an undetermined China) is the UK at $18.5M.

Screendaily: Dolittle with Robert Downey Jr. added $2.2m from 57 territories for $144.8m, and climbed to $221.6m globally. Executives acknowledged heavier drops but attributed those to the end of school holidays. The UK has produced $20.4m after five weekends, Russia $8.5m after three, and Germany $8.2m after six.
