IndustriousAngel
Lucy has around 81% market share. Can't remember anything like this. That's plain crazy. When Skyfall opened in Germany, it had 1.9mil admissions; nr. 2 on the charts had 290k - and still that was not even a 60% market share
juni78ukr
Currently Lucy grossed 69.93 mln RUB with 887 theaters out of 1011 reported. That's $1.88 mln 2nd place Deliver Us From Evil 3.01 mln RUB or $81k 2nd best opener Dolphin's Tale 2 grossed 1.14 mln RUB or $31k Those numbers are not final but you can see the range.

So, that would be about $2.1m for a Thursday opening. I'm not familiar with Russian boxoffice patterns, how does that look for the Fri-Sun weekend? Also, are Thursday openings typical, or are they unusual (like Friday openings in Japan)?

juni78ukr
73.5 mln RUB or $1.97 mln official number for Lucy. $10-11 mln OW depending on now much it will be frontloaded. 2nd place Deliver Us from Evil 3.36 mln RUB or 90k. $7.63 mln total. 3rd place The Fault in Our Stars 2.13 mln RUB or $57k. 1.31 mln total. Despite more screens Dolphin Tale 2 dropped 41% from the first movie. 1.15 mln RUB or $31k. Fullbuster
I'm really surprised : Russia will be the first country to have Big Hero 6, on October 23 That's a bit weird but why not The relative lack of animated movies this year and the superhero theme could help it there! $20m-$25m shouldn't be a problem, even if the disadvantageous exchange rates aren't helpful.
