ringedmortality
From the Bleeding cool blog: Quote Personally, I think it's important that the industry as a whole realizes that "back" does not mean we're going to be back to the 2018/2019 box office numbers. Because those numbers were never sustainable even before the pandemic happened

It will tell us if there was love for the new characters or if it was just nostalgia that worked for the first one. It’ll be interesting to see if covid really was to blame for the international flop. 12 hours ago, BestPicturePlutoNash said: I feel good about Bros and Don't Worry Darling taking off. Don't Worry Darling is genre/horror, high-concept, and powered by a huge celeb in Styles and a hot/rising actress with Pugh. Those are ripe ingredients for breakout. If it does fest circuit and gets awards buzz = $$$$ Bros has been scoring very highly at test screenings. Universal moved it to take advantage of a TIFF premiere slot. Apatow is more than capable of drawing audiences (this is a mix of The Big Sick + Trainwreck). Being the first gay major studio comedy is a great headline for buzz Bros had gay people declined entry to the test screenings so they didn’t get a skewed response. Which is a bit naff, but makes sense to them I guess. 4 hours ago, Starphanluke said: Wait... Madame Webb and Kraven are already filming? I sort of expected at least one of them to just not happen. Probably too late to pull the plugs after Morbius. Both have the exact same writers, right? 😂
ringedmortality
Quote Talking about linking the big illegal streaming sites to actual mobsters and drugs and human trafficking and drama. The MPA is building a group to work to combat piracy. Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment. They are going to work in real time across the world to try and combat piracy. An elite division of people to work with international and local law enforcement to stop pirated content. They have four kinds of tactical responses. 1. "in person C&D of operations." They encourage them to stop and try to get people to narc on their bosses essentially. Edited April 26, 2022 by ringedmortality

ringedmortality
2. Volunetary initiatives that stop feeding the operations like payments and hosting and advertising. Then they start working on the criminal aspects which ends with starting criminal cases. They are also working on delisting pirate sites. They shut down four major sites. They are calling this the first unified and coordinated effort. Telling us about two major cases that they helped with. They say that pre release leaks can cost as much as 20% of the box office. Talking about making sure that they remain connected to what their audience wants.
