terrestrial
First guesses are up Warcraft - The Beginning ~ 440k = 6th best OW in 2016Alice 2 ~ 220k (Alice 1 opened with 545.025 admissions)Angry Birds 150k + (only something under 20k admissions needed to reach the million admissions mark)Bad Neighbors 2 ~ 65kX-Men - Apocalypse ~ 140k Money Monster slightly under 120k It was a strange weekend in some ways. People standing / crawling on the highways reteurning from vacations (end of school holidays in some states), did outside sports/events, still went to the cinemas (son went Friday night 23°° o'clock with friends after a grill party = complained about the heat in the cinema!) and really bad storms at some regions (3 dead, a lot injured...) One highway way hip-deep under water, lightning bolds injured quite a lot in the last few days and water running through streets like littel rivers (with lots of dirt in it)... and the hail was at some places car damaging (again)

Warcraft had a fine opening, a real surprise! And french sleeper hit Le Goût des merveilles has finally crossed 500k admissions. Next weekend: The Nice Guys is the most interesting release, even if there's not much buzz. I doubt if it can beat Warcraft's 2nd weekend but it might come in #2. And football doc Dirty Games tries to profit from the Euro2016, but I seriously doubt if it can do better than other docs. Football fans are not that interested in the corruption side of their sport I think.
el sid
How true. I remember an evening where ARD or ZDF broadcasted a CL football match/soccer game and it had fantastic TV ratings around 40% (or even 50%?). Directly thereafter they broadcasted a Fifa-corruption-documentary and ca. 9 of 10 viewers shifted to another station and the ratings plummeted to 3.9% I think ;). @Aristis I say, give it a chance. Definitely. But I hope that I don't advice something to you which you don't like then ;). Before watching it I had mediocre expectations. Some good reviews from moviegoers I often agree with vs. the first bad ones from US-critics. And I feared that Warcraft is only for „nerds“ and overall had no idea what to expect. One of the reasons I decided to see it was that I wanted to know what Russians and people from China love so much about the game(s). If you or somebody else is interested, I wrote a little review in the Warcraft thread (page 171). And there are already some other reviews which could help too (page 166 e.g.).

Aristis
1. Trend Warcraft 300k (a bit more than 30% down, that's a great drop!!! , Cume about 840k, so probably $10M after sunday) Alice 175k (20% down with previews included!, -13% without ) The Nice Guys 140k X-Men 125k (-10% ) AB 100k (-35%) MM 100k (-15%) Hopefully the trend holds, but with bad weather continueing (while storms maybe end today) it should be doable. IndustriousAngel
I had hoped for a bit higher "Nice Guys" numbers but 140k is ok. Family stuff should do extremely well this weekend with rain everywhere. And X-Men seems to have good WOM after the lukewarm opening. HH84
Really surprised by this trend. Maybe it's because where I live the weather forecast is pretty good for the weekend (around 25°C with some clouds but no rain).

el sid
And both of you were faster than me ;). So Warcraft is down around 37%, still a good hold. And I think the real weekend number last week was actually lower than 440k because Warcraft had several Wednesday 23:59 shows which were not counted separately, so it's in fact better than -37%). Alice 2 is the biggest surprise to me. But WOM was pretty ok so... The weather is too good ;). Where I live its mixed and warm. With the football/soccer EM starting next Friday all movies will suffer massively next weekend. And maybe the EM has already an effect on this weekend because everyone who is a football fan/EM fan will do outdoor things this weekend because then the TV is more important. Secretly, I had some hopes for Green Room, but that PTA is plain embarassing. Next weekend: Don't hope for any good news, the Euro2016 is in full swing and most males will be glued to their TV screens or attend public viewings. Accordingly, the most interesting opener is aiming at the female demo: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Won't become a smash hit but who knows? Top3 might be possible!
