The Predator stayed on the lowest end of expectations and will probably have a very short run. Among holdovers, The Nun and Sauerkrautkoma show that their respective franchises are alive and kicking, and even Equalizer 2 might reach the first one's total. Next weekend: The House With a Clock in its Walls belongs to a genre nearly extinct, namely kids horror - difficult to gauge its potential but 50k admissions should be doable. And Til Schwaiger's latest comedy, Klassentreffen 1.0, will probably not do much better than previous offerings from the past years - but even reduced interest should be enough for #1, I expect something like 150k for the weekend. And with comedies, it's mostly about the legs anyway. With not much new competition, expect some good holds once more!
IndustriousAngel
bookings for THWaCiiW and Klassentreffen1.0 are about head-to-head on opening day at my theater which means that the UPI horror will probably come out strongest since family films are always weak on presales. Giesi
I already thought Rogue One being the most attended movie of 2016 with barely 4M adm was piss-poor, but if IW really takes the 2018 crown with 3,4M......

IndustriousAngel
I think everybody expected the 2018 BO to be really bad, but the kind of disaster we're witnessing was not foreseen, with bad surprises every week and only say one positive surprise per month - chances are that Germany will miss the 100mil admissions mark in 2018 ... Openers were ok, let's see if Klassentreffen can develop some legs. Next weekend: BO is bound to take a leap with two attractive openers - Herbig's Ballon, a "true" story about a family's daring escape from the GDR - a feat I still remember from the papers despite the fact it happened 40 years ago! And, of course, The Incredibles 2 which finally gets its German release and should win the weekend with a healthy market share. The first one reached 3,5mil total - not that much for a CGI movie - but it experienced a healthy post-theater run and is still very much present, so I really do hope it can reach something like 4-5mil total. 2018 is in dire need of some hits … weather forecasts look sunny but rather cool, so probably a good weekend for family stuff! Giesi
Pixar only had 2 movies over 4M adm, I think we should lower our expectations. Anything over 3M would be fine considering the situation of the market right now. Edited September 25, 2018 by Giesi
