Avengers 4 is a possibility if: - the quality is at least equal to Avenger 3 or preferable better - the mood in the movie supports the wish to re-watch it (a lot), sad ending stories usually/mostly get not equally re-watched. Ppl that re-watch push often their friends / family to go with them, a few of those can do the same later on too. - the marketing is very good - the translations are very good - no local event.... hinders in one of the big earner countries the interest - no scandal.... 1 Avengers: Infinity War BV $2,048.4 $678.8 33.1% $1,369.5 66.9% 2018 It would be an increase of less than 5% + or - - Exchange rates.... might be a problem, we do not know how those will be in April, May,.... so if it is final sum in $ friendly... ot the other way around, can hinder - the rumoured runtime can be a bit of a problem too (not a must, can) as the screen-times possible per cinema is during the usual operating times reduced. Average films I feel like are around 2 hours mostly (not the average out of all movies!), If it is really 3 hours long..... Extra fees for over-length does not counter-balance the missed screen times if the run time is that long - IW was an absolut monster almost everywhere, I just think that it might not be that easy to do that again. Also IW was advertised as the big movie and that I think might hurt Endgame a bit. And maybe I am a little biased. I just don't really like superhero movies. The amount seems to be an average out of 16 amounts,, if I understand that right There is no question, its not simple, nor a certainty it will reach $2b, but see earlier there is a possibility to reach it or more too. I am not into the prediction game, I prefer to work with the finals by far, so I am more curious to see how many ppl and who will have guessed right, and if there were special circumstances that did hinder or help the results per country or region. So DB seem to have been 1st on Tuesday and its admissions would have been enough to be 7th at the WE. So it should have had around 65k to 75k on Tuesday. el sid
Seems indeed like a very nice day for family films (Ralph at 290k admissions in the third trend e.g.). But the rest is also quite stable in the final trend: Creed II stays at 140k, Instant Family 140k with previews, Green Book 130k with previews, Glass 120k. And I completely forgot that How To Train Your Dragon 3 - which officially starts here on Thursday - has previews today which should result in 50-100k admissions for Sunday. And according to the Sunday reports of insidekino.de/forum it looks pretty good for the movie, more like it could reach the higher end of the predictions for today.

scabab
It looks like Broly was only in theatres for one day but it sold 73,000 tickets. Not sure if we'll know what that is in terms of gross though but Resurrection F did 19,800 tickets and made $301,000.

Green Book is the surprise of the weekend, with its PTA it should see an expansion and might be in for a very healthy run. Bohemian Rhapsody is now finally a blockbuster, well done! And Der Junge muss an die frische Luft continues with a strong hold and will become the fifth 3mil-grosser of 2018. Next weekend: How To Tame Your Dragon 3 will win the weekend, and The LEGO Movie 2 will also attract some business, should be enough for at least #3, so a lot of new competition in the family sector - steeper drops guaranteed! 3

I really don't know who thought that would be a good idea. Not only HTTYD3 and Lego in one WE but Ralph only in its 3rd... That is especially sad for LM2 - I loved the first but it was rather disappointing in Germany and now the 2nd has to deal with a (sadly) much more beloved franchise... I hope it may still be able to reach 1M in the end which would be down significantly from the first ones 1,3M... 3

Taruseth
So the year was better than first though, but still absolutely awful, with 105.4M admissions sold, that means the lowest year since 1990. The gross dropped to just €899.3M, that is below the years 2009-2017, 2001 (987M) and 2001 (960M) and barely above 2004 (by just a few millions!) The average ticket price dropped a litte from €8.63 to €8.54 (first time since 2002-2003), but that's because 3D share dropped from 21.5 to 16.9% Germany now has 905 (+ 6) Cinema locations with 4849 (+46) screens and 795,686 (+6407) seats. Wotad
I wonder if its because of a film like Star Wars not taking off last Year?
Brainbug
2018 was just the worst case scenario imo: -World Cup -cold spring and practically non-existent autumn, leaving people at home waiting for the summer and then -Summer heat wave with record temperatures and most importantly: The Movies released in 2018 were mostly not at all appealing to many Germans. What the people in our country seem to like the most are 1) epic Fantasy storys (LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars etc.) 2) Well-made comedys or comedys that hit the zeitgeist (Untouchables, Schuh des Manitu, Fak ju Göte etc.) 3) Animated movies mostly targeted at younger children/familys (Shrek, Ice Age, Minions etc but not Pixar for example) Superhero movies are dominating the planet right now. And that particular genre is just not really selling all that well here. Moreover, moviegoing isnt as important here than in the UK, US or the growing asian markets. Its just one of many options to spend an evening with. And with the tickets becoming more expensive every year and fucking 3D still not dying, im not shocked that 2018 was such a disaster.
