Aristis
Seems like the midweek dropped very little (~95k vs 103k) to reach 8,7M (€118M) until Wednesday. This weekend will see it pass the first Avatar easily (in €) - though it already passed that ones first release. Avatar 1 - 10,897M / €110,15M SE (10) - 396k / €4,4M RR (22) - 380k / ~€4,4M-€4,6M Total - 11,693M* / 119,19M *it seems to have ~20k more than what it should but I don't know where that comes from. https://www.insidekino.de/Y/DuellJC.htm https://www.insidekino.de/DJahr/DAlltime100bo.htm https://www.insidekino.de/DJahr/D2009.htm Edited February 2, 2023 by Aristis
IndustriousAngel
early weekend estimates from insidekino.de: #1: A2 - 300k (-24%, usually actuals are higher than estimates) #2: ??? - 200k (-21%, fine) #3: PiB2 - 125k (-2%, seriously?) Plane and Otto on #4 and #5, while I didn't expect much from Plane, Otts's number are really disappointing. I've seen it at last on Monday and it really was great - and actually quite scary 👀 I hope (and guess) 2M will happen seeing that only 300k are leftleft (I just saw that it opened to 120k so it'll have a bigger 7th WE than its OW and a x14+ multipler! Aristis
It's a German movie based on the American book series The Three investigators which is quite popular here.

In Austria even better, it should be close to 250k total after this weekend, and with school holidays starting today there's even a chance at 300k (especially since ??? isn't as popular here as it is in Germany)

So a magic mike movie might kick avatar from first place - let's hope Avatar manages two incredible holds and stay #1 next weekend (or gets replaced by Titanic). Samwise the Brave
I'm not so sure about a Magic Mike movie to kick Avatar from the top spot

Avatar 2 probably needs to stay above 225k to stay #1. Think something like 200k for Mike and 150k (to less) for Titanic right now.
Samwise the Brave
I mean it can catch up to some movies that were at the top for 10 weeks. Technically it would be nine weeks but the first Wednesday was enough to claim the top spot as well so you can technically count it as 10. 10 weeks: The War of the Roses (1990) Intouchables (2012) Avatar (2009) Jungle Book (2 releases 1987/1993) 12 weeks: Pretty Woman 15 weeks: Titanic So if you really want to count the preview gross in a seperate week Avatar 2 has a good chance to claim the top spot for 10 weeks as this weekend could be down only by 10% since Thursday was 10% down as well. Maybe 11 if Ant-Man underperforms massively. Part 2 opened to 198k, an increase of only 20% means short of 250k and best case for Avatar now is 350k this weekend with the upcoming trends, then 300k next weekend and 250k when Ant-Man 3 opens although premium screens will belong to Ant-Man
IndustriousAngel
With weather more rainy than snowy (and windy, too), it's really a movie weekend, especially afternoons ... ??? and PiB2 are having a very strong day. Concerned about Otto, though, at my cinema it's selling less seats than Banshees - obiously I was wrong about there being a demand ...
