I don't think you can say something is doing well, when the movie will end up grossing less than half of what the predecessor did!

Mediocre opening for Star Trek, steep drops for family stuff, BFG flops, and thanks to summer movie festivals, some longrunners are moving up in the charts.

 

Next weekend: Pets should conquer the charts with ease, I'm hoping for something like 600k admissions or more for Germany. Of course, much depends on weather which is a bit unpredictable atm.

#1: Pets - 725k or more (yeah, finally a really good weekend for something!)

#2: ST3 - 225k (-25%, drop good, total not good)

#3: Tarzan - 175k (meh but what did they expect)

#4/5: IA5 - 160k (-30%, very good against Pets)

        ID2 - 160k (-30%)

#6: MBY - 100k (-15%)

The awareness is definetely there, I know some twenty-somethings with kids who can't wait to see the movie, nostalgia will do wonders when FD is finally coming out. 1,2Mio first weekend with a total around 6Mio is my bet.

Ice Age 2 should have the record with nearly 2.4mil admissions. Finding Nemo was >2mil, too.
