Rudolf
Smaller numbers than this.in Germany the least successful LotR had 10.4m adm., while the most successful Bond had 7.2m adm.
IndustriousAngel
But Hobbit is in 3D, this will shorten legs I suppose. We sat RotK 8x at the theater (not counting the LotR-marathons every year, this was 8x during its regular run) - I don't think I'll buy 8 3D-tickets for any film (we paid 4x for Avatar and saw it once for free). IndustriousAngel
That's absolutely stunning, why did it work so much better than CR and QoS?!And the crazy thing is that the other films were not hurt at all - there may even have been some spillover business since drops were soft. lab276
Shit, no 2.5M adms. What are you talking about? It's doing fantastically well. Assuming Wednesday performs like the average of Monday and Tuesday (175k), than its first 7 days will be the 10th biggest ever, and nearly 500k more than the previous decade high (DH2 with 2.341m) and that films made it to just under 6.5m tickets. That would make it the biggest Bond movie since The Spy Who Loved Me and bigger than CR by 1m tickets.
