Purple Minion
Weekend estimates (Screendaily, Deadline) Ben Hur (2016) tops the market with a $2.8M OW, on par with Hercules and 8% below Exodus. SS #2, $2M weekend for a great $23.6M total. Purge Election Year opens at #3, $1.4M, biggest OW of the franchise. Ghostbusters best OS holdover, $1.1M for $5M total. Purple Minion
Official weekend figures. Ben Hur with an unremarkable OW, Purge 3 manages to keep the horror momentum, Ghostbusters deflating. And in the "I never saw this coming" section: SS will pass FD in lc gross, and SLOP may end up with a bigger audience than the fish. Who knew. As an extra, here's how SS stands against other super-hero blockbusters. Rank, all-time rank, gross (lc), movie (year) 01 01 827,122,715 The Avengers (2012) 02 02 784,100,000 Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) 03 05 725,755,205 Captain America 3: Civil War (2016) 04 08 629,616,949 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) 05 13 591,366,759 Iron Man 3 (2013) 06 22 441,253,723 Suicide Squad (2016) 07 26 420,153,770 The Dark Knight Rises (2012) 08 31 383,580,659 The Amazing Spider Man (2012) 09 33 381,085,877 Spider Man 3 (2007) 10 37 371,356,228 The Amazing Spider Man 2 (2014)
MinaTakla
Great for Pets. Can it match IO's 10.7m audience? It's interesting how the ER severely impected it. IO made 31m USD even though Pets may end up close in audience yet not exceed 22-23m USD. Huge difference in ER.
Purple Minion
Yeah, bleedin' ER. The low ticket price also impacted negatively. A movie with a 10M audience should gross around 450M lc ($25M) in average. Edited August 22, 2016 by Purple Minion
Purple Minion
Weekly figures. Ben Hur wins the week but not the battle, Jason Bourne should kick it out of the top this weekend. Bad Moms also opens today, but don't expect it to set the box office on fire. SS should climb to #3 in the yearly chart by Sunday; SLOP finally reaches 10M in audience. Here's the Top 10 so far this year: TOP MOVIES 2016 (lc, up to 25 Aug) 01 725,755,205 Captain America 3: Civil War 02 629,616,949 Batman v Superman 03 458,304,971 Finding Dory 04 453,620,238 Suicide Squad 05 427,515,447 The Jungle Book 06 417,145,393 Ice Age: Collision Course 07 385,093,738 Secret Life of Pets 08 379,250,901 The Conjuring 2 09 347,000,000 Deadpool <- estimate 10 337,519,098 X-Men: Apocalypse

Purple Minion
Weekend estimates (Screendaily) Jason Bourne #1, $1.5M, about the same in USD than Identity and Ultimatum, but probably the highest in lc. Ben Hur $1.1M weekend, $4.9M cume. The Purge 3 $950K weekend for a $3M total. To be updated...

Purple Minion
Probably around $4.25M, $5M if it has extremely good legs (which is a rarity these days...) Weekend actuals. Holiday season is truly over! Jason Bourne is #1, highest OW in the franchise with about $1.5M. which is a bit meh all things considered. Bad Moms doesn't hit the million mark (as expected), while The Shallows rebounds big time (wonder if it got expanded?) SS is now the #3 movie of the year (behind two other superhero films) and #19 all-time, sandwiched between TFA and San Andreas. Meanwhile, SLOP jumped over SM3 and Avatar to become the #17 most attended movie ever.

MinaTakla
Wow, didn't expect Pets to surpass both Dory and IA5. This is one of the rare markets that it has managed to beat both films in attendance. Thanks @efialtes76
Purple Minion
This is the all time (since 2004) admission ranking from IA4 to IA5... SLOP should pass Shrek 2, but MU and IO are a stretch. Purple Minion
Weekly figures. Decent holds for Jason, Ben and the Bad Moms. Lots of new openings this weekend: War Dogs, Mike & Dave, Nerve, Neon Demon and Nine Lives, plus a local movie (Delgada Línea Amarilla) and previews for STB. Based on the amount of available screens in Cinepolis, I say the battle will be close, with the Squad and the wedding date seekers as frontrunners, and the trekkers if the previews qualify for the report! SS and SLOP keep climbing the all time lists, details in this thread: Edited September 2, 2016 by Purple Minion
Purple Minion
Weekend estimates, the summer season is truly done and dusted. From Screendaily / Deadline: Mike and Dave tops the weekend with a mere $1M. Ben-Hur: $628K for a $6M total. Bad Moms: $1.85M total, tracking well ahead of Bridesmaids and How To Be Single. Nerve opens with $461K. Edited September 4, 2016 by Purple Minion
Purple Minion
Weekend official numbers. The end of summer means lower OW, but better holds - no movie dropped more than 50% this weekend. Mike & Dave win the weekend, defeating last week champion Jason Bourne and the very resilient SS. In fact, the Squad will become soon only the 16th movie to cross the 500M lc threshold. Mexico sure loves their DC! Meanwhile, another round of cheap tickets propels SLOP to cross the 10.5M audience mark, if the promotion continues it shouldn't have any problem to pass MU and IO and become the 5th most attended animated movie ever (and #1 among originals). Other new entries are Nine Lives and Nerve, which won't last long in the Top 10.
