In Mexico, San Andreas is the highest-grossing disaster film of all time, and this weekend has become the biggest WB release ever in the market — overtaking Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2. The local total is $28.1M.

Inside Out: Opened strong in Latin America, led by Mexico where it took an estimated $8.8M. In an increasing trend, Mexico is the leading international territory thus far. In milestones there, Inside Out opened at No. 1, nudging aside the dinosaurs, and had the highest original IP animated opening of all time.

On Deadline it says this

"Fox International Productions’ Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F, already a massive local hit in Japan at $30.9M, blasted off in Latin America to a fantastic $7M. It opened No. 1 in Peru and Chile and grossed $3.5M in Mexico on 713 screens."

Is $3.5 million good? That's more than the first one.

Top 4 Weekend: 

 

1- Inside Out, $8.6m, new.

2- Jurassic World, $6.9m. Cume: $28.9m

3- Dragon Ball, $3.4m, new. I think this is not bad Scabab ;)

4- San Andreas, $1m. Cume: $28.5m

 

Very good OW for Inside Out. The Minions are coming on the 9th so the Pixar movie and Jurassic World still have next weekend without competition. Talking about JW, it passed San Andreas and it is already the number 3 movie for the year. Ricky Martin and Thalia gave their voices to the villains on The Minions movie and a huge success is expected all over Latin America.

Thanks fullbuster :)  Brazilian sites take a little bit longer to update the numbers. So maybe tomorrow or on Wednesday I will post the same chart.

 

AOU's legs in Mexico was horrible. It barely doubled its OW.

 

AoU is still in the top 10 but doing peanuts. It is almost done in Mexico. 

 

But it is the second best movie in mexican history in admissions, behind the first Avengers. So, I think its work is done in this market, even though you are right about its legs.
