7M here for Alien , around 200K Wed-Sun , around 48% drop , meh hold. Hope the actuals will be better . the million stays possible.

31,7M for D&W , again around 200-205K , around 40% drop.

4,5M for It Ends With Us but the most strongest thing is i count 250K but it's behind Alien and D&W so i don't know if it's good or not. I think the drop is much better than Alien and probably also D&W

It ends with us reached #1 Yesterday. Of course this week doesn't have big new movies but still interesting.

Sonic can be in the top  10. Sonic 2 made 2,2m admissions in march 2022 at the end of the covid era. So Sonic 3 during christmas will make easily  more admissions. I can see this one make 3-3,5m admissions.

14,27M admissions for August , -7% vs LY but with the Olympics effect and no barbenheimer it's not bad at all. September 2023 was really bad with only 8,8M admissions. With Beetlejuice , i expect a jump , maybe 10M admissions. 117,75M admissions in 2024 , only -6% behind 2023.

 

If i take the same summer as USA , May-August made 61,9M admissions, up +7% vs 2023. In this period , it's at the same level as 2019. To found a better level , it was in 2014 ( around 66M)

Incredible hold for It Ends With Us , like in Germany , it will surpass 1M admissions. Alien will surpass this in 3 weeks . The Count has a very good chance to surpass 8M but it's the end of summer holidays so the drop for Mon-Tue and next week will be really big specially for DM4 and IO2. Good hold also for Emilia Perez , with the awards season just really starting , maybe 1M admissions at the beginning of 2025?

The lineup seems very strong until the end of the year compared to 2023.

 

September with Bettlejuice will probably be better  than 2023 who was bad.

October is very packed with Joker 2, Venom 3, L'amour Ouf, Transformers, The Wild Robot, 4 zéros, Mr  Aznavour.

November will be decent with Gladiator 2 and Moana 2, two films who will be  huge .

December will be great too with Mufasa, Sonic 3, the continuation of Vaiana 2, Lord of the Rings, and 2-3 french comedies like Mercato , Un noel en famille or Jamais sans mon psy.

 

 At the end of August we have 117,75M admissions  compared to 124,92M in 2023. There was 180,76M admission in 2023, right now i would say  178-179M admissions  for 2024, it will be close.

I think 182-183M at this point , October will be huge , i expect maybe 20M for the month ( the record post Covid is 19M in April 2023).

It would be fantastic to see 2024 beat 2023.

 

People still want to go to theaters.  We just need good and big films.I'm pretty sure 2025 will be  close to 2015-2019 (205-210M admissions per year).

The summer (may-august) was similar to 2015-2019.   January, February, April were awful because of the hollywood strike and the lack of big american films. Last year the strike was catastrophic too (Dune  2 delay, etc..).

Outside of animated movies , good hold for everyone for Mon/Tue with the summer holidays ending . The top 3 is specially great , It Ends With Us continue his great run and will surpass 1M admissions next week like Alien. Emilia Perez has the same drop as Anatomy of a fall last year . It it continue , it will finish his first run around 900K and with awards season , he will have a boost and surpass also 1M . D&W will finish around the same score as Deadpool 1. P'tit Truc en Plus will surpass Star Wars 7 and 10,5M admissions next week. 8M is officially locked for the Count specially with his Mon/Tue , if the hold is good , maybe he could surpass IO2. For the first time in 5 years , no newcomers in top 10.

 

This week : no Beetlejuice 2 this week , so the top 3 is safe .

8,9M$ for It Ends With Us , but last week Sony overestimate a lot (6,4M vs 7,1M the day before). If it works like last week, the real number will be around 8M , so around 160K for Wed-Sun so around 25% drop , 1M surpassed if it's true .

With just some preview Bettlejuice was first the last thursday in front of Le Comte and was second yesterday behind Le Comte. So we can expect a great opening day and week for Bettlejuice wednesday.

With this , it's only the 3rd time in BO history that in the same year we have at least 3 movies which made 8M+ admissions after 1962 and 1998 :

Incredible hold despite Summer Holidays. Anybody has at least -50% drop!!! Even Animated Movie which usually drops 70-75% drop. IEWU and Alien surpass 1M , the former will finish around 1,3M . Incredible hold for Emilia Lopez ( for Comparaison Anatomy of the fall : 146K (-31%) - 755K) , 1M, in October, is really possible at this rate !!! DM4 will finish almost in line with DM2, D&W in line with Deadpool . P'tit truc en Plus number 7 , in 19th week, is insane . Last Week , he went in VOD and DVD/Blu Ray. The Count at this rate will surpass IO2, another insane run. If it's case , it will be the first time since 2014 where the top 2 of the year are french.

I think 9M should be doable for the Count , the movie basically had no end of summer return to school impact this week and will have septembre to have more minimal drops .

The Cesar Awards ( the French Oscars )and if it's France international oscar selection shoud add more numbers .

and now the UGC chain annouced the ticket will cost only 6.5 dollar for the under 26 years old until the end of it's run .
