yjs
CGV midday report 2PM Seondal: 25.7k Dory: 18.2k think Dory will reprise TJB kind of family film performance. Much stronger weekends, somewhat deflated weekdays. other summer animated OD numbers Inside Out: 68k (5M total. July 2015) Minions: 193k (2.6M total. August 2015, during school vacation) HTTYD2: 72k (3M total. July 2014) so I would say 60-70k would be satisfying enough, and it seems reachable. They do those now? yup yup, more like real-time report, on the website and on the app. mostly you multiply by 1.5 to 2 then you get the rough numbers from the all multiplexes included that time. Some movies show stronger performance at CGV, some are stronger at Lotte. It depends but I could probably say Hollywood films and CJ-distributed Korean films tend to do better at CGV and Korean films that are not distributed by CJ do better at Lotte. chasmmi
My middle schoolers are very excited about some Zombie film coming out soon. I have no idea what they are talking about though and am worried the zombie will be a kpop star that falls in love after some hilarious hijinks. The Legend of Tarzan 3,931 #10. Independence Day: Resurgence 2,064 good enough start for Dory. Seondal must have strong walk-ins. But it has bad WOM so Dory might pass it by the weekend. Similar with TJB's debut week.

The director Yeon Sang-Ho used to make R-rated indie animations and this one's his first live-action debut.

Good WOM? more like less frontloaded-ness than the effect of good WOM in immediate action, but yeah it does seem to have a good WOM at the moment and looking VERY good to take #1 this weekend. Its main competitor having terrible WOM also helps. The last time a Wednesday debut saw a Thursday increase was with Me Before You on June 2nd.

Well I did a class on trailers and included it as a trailer I showed. But surprisingly for Korea, it had a big trailer push in front of YouTube videos a month or so back which is rare for a film that is 6 months away. Even Star Wars didn't exist until about 6 weeks before release.

I'm not sure if many audience members are going to make a connection to Zootopia, though, especially by the time Christmas comes. Also, a class on trailers? What do you teach?
