keysersoze123
Well that's pretty surprising. Do you have no summer holidays? I think in europe bo goes for a toss when the weather is sunny. People prefer to be outdoors rather than see movies. Movies do better when there is lot of rain or during winter.

Rsyu
Isn't interstellar more than 2 weeks away. Any comparisons to other big films. 16 days till release. The biggest November release to date is <2012> released back in 2009. No solid figure on the number of tickets pre-sold is available but the share was close to 70%. OD for <2012> was 304,862 and the 4-day opening week admissions was 1,621,656. All in all the film finished with 5,462,953 admissions. A werewolf boy, released on October 30th, had a smaller OD and OW of 128,787 and 1,289,562 respectively. It's presales were lower too with 57,479 tickets sold (42.3%) by it's OD. A werewolf boy had better legs though and finished with 6,654,842 admissions total. For a similar film type with similar release date, gravity last year opened to an OD and OW of 110,996 and 825,367 admissions. the presales for gravity by it's opening day was 81,805 tickets sold (48.6%). It finished with 3,227,647 admissions. If the currency holds, it favors the dollar much more than back in 2009 too.. keysersoze123
I think Interstellar will do 6M+ admissions. I hope so. BTW is china release confirmed for November 7. it was posted elsewhere that it will open on Nov 12th. edit: nevermind. Saw your confirmation in the Interstellar OS thread. Still its not bad but not as good as what it could have been with a day and date release. Edited October 21, 2014 by keysersoze123

Rsyu
Do you think it could reach 13M admissions? ($ 90M ish) I'd say no to 13 million admissions, for now at least, for the simple fact that only 2 foreign films ever made it past even 10 million. Avatar made it to 13 million but it was a one off and can't really be compared to AoU. As I see it AoU has 3 things going for it in Korea at the moment: Increase in popularity of Marvel films since the Avengers Footage shot in South Korea South Korean actress included in the cast and here are the factors that weigh in (or could weigh in) against it: No film released out of the summer/winter holiday frame has ever made it to 10 million admissions April is an 'off-season' for movie going Box office hasn't really grown significantly since 2012 Scenes from SK could be limited Korean actress could have limited screen time (Like Fan bing-bing in Days of future past) 10 million admissions is on the table since IM3 managed 9 million with a similar release date and interest in TA2 is sky high at the moment. I can guarantee it will have a huge opening week thanks to the week-long holiday at the beginning of May (which is when I'd imagine it would be released) but to have good legs after that, it would need word of mouth on the level of frozen or begin again to create a kind of "must-see" event feel to it. Rsyu
Half-decent start for Gone girl. It should manage 1 million admissions at least. My viewing was shockingly empty though so I'd imagine it would need some healthy legs going into it's second week and onwards.
