Really not impressed with presales for Assassination so far, it's still hovering around 36K tickets. It looks unlikely that it'll match Roaring Currents' explosive OW.

It doesn't have to, needs to let just enough room for IO to increase :D

No serious, I can think IO will be at 3M afther this week :)

Do you know how much screens IO will hold this weekend?

Depends on how well Assassination does I guess. I'm guessing 400-500s but can't say for certain. Should keep a reasonable amount (~700) over the weekends where it will still play strong.

That good news, so no 45-50% drops this week :D

I was thinking about:

120K

115K

111K

92K

121k

300k

285k

For around 3.2M admission afther this weekend.

Sounds about right?

Could you also tell me the demograph split for IO? and the age split :D

Week 2 admissions for Inside out was 1,316,108 so I'd say your projections are a tad optimistic as much as I'd like it to happen.

As for the demography split, this is from CGV research from presales:

teens: 3.6%

20s: 42.8%

30s: 35%

40s:  18.6%

But I feel the teen demography isn't properly represented due to the low presale potential from that demo. This was also evident with Age of Ultron. The age/sex split according to Naver ratings looks something like this:

DADhHSn.jpg

Male: 54%, Female: 46%

Age: teens-23% 20s-47% 30s-20% 40s-11%

>The demography that enjoyed this film the most are females in their 20s

A lot of reactions I'm seeing from comments on news articles is that Inside out feels like an animated film for adults, and of parents that were "forced" to go with the children ending up enjoying it even more than them. It's great because animated films in Korea are generally perceived as kids products which ironically, leads to the animated film producers to develop even more films target at kids. Even Frozen, that was such a hit among adults, didn't really shake off this tag. I'm hoping Inside Out can go some way to erasing this stereotype.

So that 116K will probably increase to 117K most likely? Right?

Yes, and great prediction btw, that hold is very very strong. I think we can add this to the pile of great word of mouth films we've seen this year. Assassination will hit it early being released on a wednesday but with presales not really picking up yet I think your prediction isn't so far fetched now.

Another film that's been showing some good holds while flying under the radar is Insidious 3. It's already the 15th most attended film in the horror genre and the biggest since The Conjuring.
