Kvikk Lunsj
"Why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up."TDKR is connected both in story and themes to this quote.Love it!
Sims
Just saw it. Really liked it, not sure if I loved it. I want to see it again before deciding on a final rating. There a few pacing issues but honestly the 3 hours flew by.EDIT: I will say it's going to have great WOM judging by my crowd Edited July 23, 2012 by Sims
superduperm
Nothing even comes close to TDK's Sunday drop.TDK's Sunday is probably one of the top 5 most epic single-day grosses of all time. Right up there with TA's/SM1's first Saturday (still don't know which ones more impressive; TA wins in admissions but SM1 had so few screens) and HP8's OD. Dementeleus
I think AVATAR's 3.1% first Sunday drop is up there as well.
lancer1997
Watching BB right now. After they release the toxin, Ra's Al Ghul is wearing a mask, a la Bain while talking to Batman.Pretty amusing IMO.
lancer1997
I think AVATAR's 3.1% first Sunday drop is up there as well.Avatar doesn't count...EVER.There is frankly no comparison. In today's box office, that type of performance was Titanic-esque and supposed to be impossible. Just a ridiculous run. It's unfair to compare that performance to anything today.
cory
I think AVATAR's 3.1% first Sunday drop is up there as well.Huge snowstorm muted Saturday numbers, I remember because I had to wait until Sunday to see it.
Dementeleus
:rofl:Well, I wasn't comparing its long legs. Just its immediate ones.
TLK
Yeah, I'll be surprised if it beats TDK's sunday drop. That was something else entirely. I am going to stick with 11-12% drop until Rth tells me I am wrong.
cory
I'm thinking sub 5% for today.
Sims
I will say the theatre was very crowded for a Sunday night.
superduperm
10% is the magic number. If it's under I'll be happy, if it's over I'll be disappointed. How disappointed I am depends on how steep the drop is (11% = slightest disappointment; 20% = big disappointment)
superduperm
I will say the theatre was very crowded for a Sunday night. Not as crowded as TA or TDK though, I assume?
Sims
Not as crowded as TA or TDK though, I assume? Not nearly as much as TDK which I saw on its first Saturday. It was about on par with or a little above TA's second Saturday (42.9M), which was when I saw it. Edited July 23, 2012 by Sims

superduperm
I'm thinking sub 5% for today. If that happens how much of a historical BO day would this be remembered as?
Kvikk Lunsj
Saw Moonrise Kingdom movie theater's park lot was packed.
cory
There were also 2 police vans/suvs parked on the sidewalk in front of the theater.
Sims
If that happens how much of a historical BO day would this be remembered as?Well, it would still be a lower Sunday than many were expecting before, but it would definitely renew some optimism about the rest of TDKR's run.
