Chinese math can make one that way :ca:

Nothing to do with Chinese math...just stop analyzing the real-time BO sites and wait for estimates at the end of the day. Most Chinese know that those sites aren't accurately updated.

Tuesday Estimates

Captain America: Civil War - 50.1M/737M (-14%)

Book of Love - 12.7M/664M

The Jungle Book - 2.32M/965M

I can live with that number

220m$ seems like a likely total at this point provided nothing out of the ordinary happens.

I still feel that 200 mill is touch and go..

Are AB known in China?

Is that all that relevant? Everyone in North America knows what Angry Birds are but we are still unsure how the film will do. The real question is whether anyone in China still cares about Angry Birds. The film really should have come out 3-4 years ago.

Let's just shut down the thread and wait for Sunday estimates from BOM like a few years ago.. wait. Let's shut down the whole fucking Internet and catch the report on the radio on Tuesday evening like 40 years ago.

It's fun to analyze and get a feel sometimes, right sometimes wrong.

By all means you are welcome to wait til 10pm BT, to look for yourself, which BTW is often off by 5-10%. Maybe you should check the thread 10am the next day.

Look at the weekend thread. 200 pages of people debating the numbers, will it still hit $200m, 190m? Oh 182 is OK, it came in at 179m. Go tell Baumer CJohn, tele and 100 others to stop analyzing and posting for 3 days and see what the response is.

Numbers were all over the place last night.

111 had 44m

Maoyan 49m

And you had 50m

Maoyan shows 48m now and even that number will change in a couple days.

That's down 18.5%. That's a big drop especially after a good Monday hold. I'm thinking piracy. Today will come in between 30 and 50m who knows. We can wait 24 hours or look at the run rate in the afternoon.

DoD   BvS%  SW7%   AM     CA3%

S.     +21.5                 +41.7  +37.5

S.      -33.6                  -22.2   -27.6

M.     -68.4     -64.3    -61.9   -67.1    HD copy hits web in PM

T.      -14.4     -17.1    -10.0   -17.5   bad WOM drop

W.     -15.3     -16.1    -13.2   -14.3    Based on 3pm #.  So so

T.      -13.5     -10.6      -9.0

BvS had a 72% sun-mon drop. The dailies have since adjusted. Even so, you can see the positive WoM score reflected in the percentages Sunday through Monday, Tuesday is either an anomaly or  sign of a piracy crash.

My comment was directed at your ignorant comment about "Chinese math" and the fact it's making the thread "bipolar."

On the contrary, what's making it "bipolar" are your hourly updates of the real-time box office sites which aren't trusted resources by anyone in the local industry.

Im not hourly, that's a gross over staement, others are contributing as well. Feel free to put me on ignore.

"difficult as Chinese math" is an expression in a America for decades and i used it as a complimentary joke.

I don't find it ignorant or insulting.  Finding complexity in another culture and to use it as a metaphor for something arduous and difficult to figure out is a compliment.  Dumb as a "whatever culture" is an insult. If its now an insult i wont use it.

Christ I can't keep up with the PC.

Was called ignorant when I used "oriental" 15 years ago as I knew it to be my whole life.. Discovered Asian was the appropriate word. No one sent me the message. How "one that comes from the east" is now a bad word is beyond me. And no, dont compare it to the usage of the "N" word. It still groups the same but vastly different 20 countries into 1 people. But for some reason it's OK for rug stores to use it.  Most people now think Africa is bigger than Asia because they think Asia is only east of India. Lol. What continent they think the middle east, India and 2/3s of Russia is on, I don't know.

This whole website is bipolar, read the threads. The earth is as well for that matter.

BTW people love rollercoasters.

Edit. So funny. I ran into a Finnish friend in Kathmandu a few days ago. She was talking about heading to Thailand and Indonesia soon and I told her I'll be heading back there in a couple months. She just wrote me on FB.

"Nice to see you again, Im heading out, maybe I'll see you in Asia."

My reply.  "You just did 3 days ago"

Her reply. ???

At 3PM its at 21m. So what is the mid point for a week day. It needs to hit 26m at midpoint to be in line for 10% drop.

For members that don't want wait until 10pm to get an estimate that can still be 5-10% off....

CA3 is at XVIIIm down XIV% at this time

"It's as complicated as Roman Numerals" will now be the expression. :P

CW down 14% at 3pm compared to yesterday

if 14% drops is CA3s fate here's how it looks.. $200 not dead yet if it holds a little tighter. Considerably lower if 18% happens again and/or if it doesn't bump much when AB opens
