It really makes sense for them to wait a bit given that in just 5 years time they'll have far more leverage when it comes to negociations. No to mention in 10 or 15 years time.

TMK held 100% Friday to Monday. Rare feat. Normally that's a 33% or more drop. MH has dropped 25%~ F-M all three weeks

TMK will be at 820m on Thursday  and will have had an 88m week.

It would need an average of 30% drops for 6 weeks to make it to 1B, something that happens in domestic with a surprise hit and Disney pushing it to a milestone, a tall order for china though. Would be interesting if Mondays number indicates a huge hold this weekend. Hopefully it maintains most of its shows. 900m+/$150m will happen

Thanks Kylin! Btw, Wild City is behind TMK yeah? It is incredible how the top three movies keeps becoming top 3 for so long.

Its a lot for one weekend not giving them a chance it seems

2 are animated, mite hurt TMK a bit and take up a lot shows collectively

I notice there are a lot of films that come out of the gate small and disappear quickly. Are they making movies for just $1-2m. Otherwise they are losing on a lot of films. I don't notice the slow roll out and WOM build that HLW does with low budget independent films that sometimes go for Oscars. one or two can make $100m, a few in the 40-60m range and several making 5m-20m. PK came out small and ran decent. TMK came out w medium numbers and grew at first. But overall it looks like China BO is top heavy. Release big or die.  Are there independent film makers, independent theater houses and an audience out there? I think they could improve on the lower end to increase overall BO.
