Did'ent AoU have horrible legs and still did OD x 6 ??? Should'ent match that?

AOU opened on a non summer wed and did 7x with 65% drops on average

TF4 did 10x a Friday OD with very good 50% drops

FF7 had a massive sunday OD, 398m and did 6x with 55% drops

 

5x OD is probably the best itll do unless there is some kind wom going on

 

Huge VD yesterday

Mr Tumor 52m

Love in the City 31m

MH 30m +120% over wed 2281m/$366m

TMK 6.7m  920m/$148m

 

MH and TMK took pretty big hits last thur-fri but held well during the week. looks like they mite drop just 25-30% w/o/w today

They will lose a lot of shows to T5 on sunday though

Yes, Friday is the best day to open a film in a normal week. But it depends. Due to the way how theaters manage screenings here, it would be better for certain films to open on non-Fridays to reduce competition and catch early eyeballs.

 

And if there is a holiday, then better open your film before or right on the holiday, also depending on the expected WOM of your own film and your competitors.

Here is an interesting observation on Aou and T5

AOU % over T5

Domestic 400%  says the Arnold and the franchise are near dead, Not in top 30

OS-C 200% states T5 a decent hit, not a blockbuster, almost in the top 10

China  100% est  Its practically in the same league as AoU, both in top ten of the year. big hit

Japan 20% indifference, neither will be in top 10 or even 20 maybe

 

T5 may be just the 2nd HLWD film above $400m to do more than 80% OS
