Is POINT BREAK really happening in early Dec., more importantly, is there any demand for it? I think around Asia it is opening in early Dec too. Yea I still believe KFP3 will make 250m or less in China. Not less than 200m I think but not more than 250m either

KFP series never performed like a typical animated title. You can also expect Sponge Bob to sink like a stone (pun semi intended) when it releases, these IP's just aren't known or have any relevance to the Chinese auds. It is going to be increasingly tough for non-sequel animated's to break out, and will take a very specific type of those movies coupled with a good date and a solid marketing effort.

A Marvel Fanboy
In fact, not just animations, Ant-Man is the only Hollywood release since JW, which was nearly 5 months away, that did/is not underperforming in China. Looks like Ex-files 2 will win this weekend.

And there's chinese new year in February so when they'll release Star Wars there? Mid-January and for three weeks only? SW7 should be in early Jan, around Jan 10 I guess. It will be closed by CNY, 30 days run. Edited November 6, 2015 by firedeep
A Marvel Fanboy
Sony's 1.2B expectation for Spectre wont even come anywhere close ... actually 1.2B is not really Sony's expectation. Si Hai bought Spectre's Mainland distribution on an over/under deal so 1.2B is what Si Hai wants.
A Marvel Fanboy
Alibaba will be promoting Spectre and SW7 during their Singles Day Gala Show, which will be held on Hunan TV, Nov 10th evening. Daniel Craig will attend.

MrFanaticGuy34
The thing is with Peanuts, though....is that it's not a sequel nor a Chinese-themed animated film like KFP-series. So it was kinda predictable to call Peanuts a non-break out. Chinese audience mostly care about the KFP-series more than they do for Peanuts. And don't worry too much...cause not every big animated sequel has to underperform in China.
