KFP series never performed like a typical animated title.  You can also expect Sponge Bob to sink like a stone (pun semi intended) when it releases, these IP's just aren't known or have any relevance to the Chinese auds.   It is going to be increasingly tough for non-sequel animated's to break out, and will take a very specific type of those movies coupled with a good date and a solid marketing effort.

SW7 should be in early Jan, around Jan 10 I guess. It will be closed by CNY, 30 days run.

The thing is with Peanuts, though....is that it's not a sequel nor a Chinese-themed animated film like KFP-series. So it was kinda predictable to call Peanuts a non-break out. Chinese audience mostly care about the KFP-series more than they do for Peanuts.

 

And don't worry too much...cause not every big animated sequel has to underperform in China.
