HP & PoA currently has a total PS of 2m. I dont have the PS data for the prior 2 movies to compare how this will do but it is going to be going against Venom's 1st weekend Plus a local movie and a Japanese animation opening on Saturday. The first one faced the second weekend of a local movie and CoS faced Joker 2 in its 1st weekend so the competition is harsher for PoA.

 

For reference Joker 2 is predicted to end it run around 60m RMB (8.56m USD) so the first one has done better than Joker 2 and the second one will do less.

I think that is fantastic looking at where presales was. Its looking like finishing  higher than any hollywood movie this year.

Maoyan rating has started at 9.0 as well. That is not bad either. So this looks like a breakout to me.

Venom 3 OD (Wednesday) - 67m RMB

 

Deadpool 3 - 54.84

Dune 3 - 42.97

Alien: Romulus - 41.04

 

Better Psm than both Deadpool 3 and Dune 2. Venom 3 had the same OD PS as these 2 but finished quite a bit ahead despite being released on Wednesday as opposed to Friday for both Deadpool 3 and Dune 2 (unless today was a holiday or something).

 

IT has surpassed Joker 2's lifetime collection in less than a day

 

Final gross prediction has dropped a little bit from around 88m to 82m though. Let's see how it goes

Venom 3 Day 2 - 38.13m RMB

 

Can’t compare with the 3 movies I compared in the post above since they all opened on Friday vs Wednesday for this one. 
 

Final prediction has dropped again however for this to 78.9m USD (it went from 88 —> 82 —> 79)

Venom 3 (Friday) - 51.55m RMB

 

That's a better Friday than Dune 2 (43m) and Alien: Romulus (41m) and only slightly worse than Deadpool and Wolverine (54.8m). This is despite the fact that these movies opened on Friday whereas this is the 3rd day for Venom. The good hold can explain the reason why final prediction has increased to around 82m USD.

 

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban OD - 7.61m RMB

 

The opening day for the 3rd HP rerelease was lower than the OD for the first 2 movies (10.8m and 8.3m). The final prediction is also the lowest of the 3 at about 44m compared to the first 2 movies (76m and 47m respectively). The 3rd movie does face more competition which could partly explain its lower opening and projected total.

Huge jump on Saturday. Far Far better than Dune 2 (30.5%), Deadpool 3 (10%) and even Alien Romulus (56%)
