Today WOTT only counts about 10% screens as Titanic takes 40% screens. Wrath had 30% screens last two weeks.

But shouldn't the PTA improve a bit with such a huge theater count drop?

No 2D, it lost some one third boxoffice potential. Its performing far away from TF3. Fool and stupid FOX.

PTA will improve but not by much. PTA for Wrath now is only 9 while Titanic is 41. Both will increase afternoon, evening and night.http://tbzs.sinaapp.com/wp.php

Of course it wouldnt be as good as Avatar but still better than most 3D films.

It still cant match TF3/Avatar even its 3D is out of this world. No 2D is the big problem not the 3D affect. STUPID FOX !

One thing is 3D screens, though already 5000 national wide, are still limited and the other is many people just want to see 2D shows instead of 3D.

Titanic 3D today sails on estimated 4,000 3D screens and 60 IMAX screens in China, with about 35% screens counts and 16,000+ shows per day.

My early projection for Titanic 3D:

Mid 1M, second biggest midnight, biggest non-summer midnight

Tue. 9M, second biggest opening day, second biggest Tuesday, biggest non-summer Tuesday

Wed. 7M, second biggest Wednesday, biggest non-summer Wednesday

Thu. 7M, second biggest Thursday, biggest non-summer Thursday

Fri. 10M, second biggest Friday, biggest non-summer Friday

Sat. 12M, second biggest Saturday, biggest non-summer Saturday

Sun. 10M, second biggest Sunday, biggest non-summer Sunday

3 days opening weekend. 32M, second biggest OW, biggest non-summer OW

6 days opening week. 56M, second biggest opening week, biggest non-summer opening week

And with multiple 2, it can reach 100M at the end. However we should still see its performance the next few days/ wkn. Hope its not that frontloaded opening day.

There are 19 theaters in my local city and Titanic has 233 shows today. At China's biggest theater chain, Wanda, it has 1612 shows today and its projected to take in 2M $ from them. The national wide average ticket price is an estimated 50 yuan, or 8 USD, probably the highest ever.

Because, so far, the international cume isn't that exciting? For most overseas markets it seems to be "been there, done that and we don't care too much anymore".
