China Box Office Thread | Deadpool & Wolverine- July 26

But films don't have the same relative strength in each market, for example:

Battleship:

DOM: 65M

China: 49M

Life Of Pi:

Dom: 125M

China: 90M

I don't know how much staying power PR will have, but it's a good start.

Battleship might be a close one. But 65m is no 100M, bid different.

All right: Wed 15PM UPDATE:

Pacific Rim opening day looks to be performing well ahead that of Man of Steel from June, on track for $7M+ (43M yuan). Early Wed-Sun 5-days opening week is projected to be in the 200M+ $32M range.

I think the fact that it only got delayed for 20 days really helped it.

On the other hand, FF6 looks got seriously hurt, big drop from previous day. 200M week for FF6 looks hard now.

More later.

Is it fair to predict a 2+ multiplier from OW when it opens on wed??

Wed 23:30PM UPDATE:

Pacific Rim opening day should be around 50M $8M. That gives it one of the best nonweekend/noholiday/aka working opening day of all time.

On the other hand, FF6 looks got seriously hurt, down nearly 40% from previous day. Bye bye $80M.

More later.
