Does anyone have a daily breakdown for Escape Plan? because based on the estimates given so far, its total should only be Y175m, not the Y178m that the YTD chart indicates..

There are theaters that dont report daily numbers or report very late. So that part of gross is not included in the daily numbers and will only be added to the tally when reported. Same goes to all movies all the time.

Quick analyse:

Thanks to a great weekend boost, Marvel/Disney's Thor the Dark World finally narrowed the gap with Man of Steel after two weekends since opening. Now the 10 days haul of TDW (286m) comes very close to that of the first 11 days of MoS (290m), which is just as projected last weekend. Coming next week, with Gravity and Catching Fire debuting almost head to head, Thor obviously will face much more competitions than MoS had in its 3rd week when the major opener was Blind Detictive. So really cannot expect TDW match MoS total numbers of 395m. A more realistic goal for the God of Thunder at the moment is 360m, which will put it right between Skyfall (375m) and Star Trek into Darkness (353m), thus secures it a spot in the 2013 yearly top 20.

Excellent week to week drop for Escape Plan, down merely 35%. The Sly and Arnold actioner is the 29th movie in 2013 that crosses the 200m mark. Coming Monday, it will outdo The Expendables (213m) to claim the 2nd all time biggest grosser for a Stallone film in China, although The Expendables 2 (336m) number is out of reach. Coming week is tough. With a possible 260m total, the movie should rank around 25 on the yearly chart, by far higher than any other buyout release not called Ironman 3.

All typical drops/increases for other holdovers for 2nd/3rd weeks, respectively.

Decent opening for Red 2, but it probably wont go any higher than $10m by the end of its run simply due to a highly crowded marketplace.

Xie Na starring local romantic-comedy My Boy 4 Friends didnt cause any big sparks in the post Single Day market, taking in just 4m. Horror-thriller Black Mirror is the other one of the only two local openers from the week that got into the top 10. There were five in total.

Gravity will hit more than 5000 screens on Tuesday, following by Catching Fire on at least 4000 on Thu. Action flick Control from multiple local major players is another new release, which debuts Friday.

So this would equal a $42.5 million total from China.

This nearly doubles the total of the US gross, just insane!
