SW7 was actually featured on one of the RM shows I believe.

Maybe not exactly "popularity dipped" (at least we don't know yet until their next film comes out), more like "a little criticisim crisis" ...

Yes, RM S3 Ep 10 air 2016/1/1. SW7 (I don't know what character they are since I know nothing about it) roled as the monster killers.

That's actually pretty doubtful. Their popularity is waning and ratings have dropped by a lot - plus the embarrassing controversies aren't helping them (the RM/Australia issue, the Luhan/Zheng Kai issue). Season 2 of Running Man had higher ratings and more positive audience response.

Deng Chao has always been pretty famous outside of RM, as is his relationship with Sun Li, which is why Devil and Angel did well box office-wise but after the overwhelmingly negative response, I don't see them helping much either.

But the highest single ep rating is in S3 (Ep 8, air 2015/12/18) which Sun Li as a guest.

Agree, D & A 's reviews is very poor + The Legend of Miyue is not as good as Zhen Huan, but I believe their popularity are still strong.

Deng Chao wills gain his good reputation again from The Mermaid.

Rumor : Stephen Chow signed 2B box office guarantee for Mermaid (Distributors' astronomical bet on upcoming film 'Mermaid').

My guess is Deng Chao is less of a factor than Stephen Chow when it comes to Mermaid. Besides, Deng Chao irritated a fair number of people by posing 80 positive fan reviews in "retaliation" against the negative reviews on Devils and Angels. He lost 160k followers on weibo in two days. This happens after the running man episode. While his number of followers had recovered since then, I am beginning to see the Chinese media portraying him as a "one trick pony" i.e. just know how to act crazy/cute. For his fans, that is a non-issue but for the vast majority, his image is somewhat tarnished.

Box office guarantee is such an odd way of doing business... It is like a command economy approach in a market economy...

Go fighting looks to underperform, under 150M yuan 3 day possible.

KFP3 should really be pushed forward for a week or two...

Actually, Go Fighting is not as popular as RM. RM rank #1 Chinese variety show, GF #8. Even 100M Yuan is a big success for it. But since Huang Bo is in, it would be his lowest movie in recent years. Since 2012 Huang Bo had 1B movies every year (LiT, JTTW, BB, Mojin). Hope Huang Bo's reputation isn't killed by its reviews.

And that was a fluke. Their ratings dipped under 4 for almost half the episodes, and the show hasn't gotten that low a rating since season 1.

Like the other user said, Deng Chao isn't the main draw of The Mermaid. Stephen could have cast someone relatively unknown (and he did cast an unknown as the titular role) and he would still get the same results. People are going to watch it because it's a Chow movie.

SW7 on pace for 39m +32%

New releases will all be under 20m

Today's market share will outperform  it's screen share 30% to 20%

Presales not increasing much for tomorrow's new release. SW7 will beat it and have the best market/screen ratio again tomorrow. Bodes well for keeping or increasing it's screens through next thursday.

Well that is a smaller bump than other films that tend to bump 40%. So it's not huge and the competition is weak.

Tomorrow's release may just do 40m . Looking for at least 60% bump. Upper 50s, still a 70% w/o/w drop for sat

It's not a deathslide like Tomorrowland, a bit like T5 though.

With a 39m yuan Friday, a 150m yuan weekend is very likely for SW7, right?

Looks like as the day passes, SW7 slows. Right now about 33m yuan. Next two days it is projected to lose another 10% of its current screening. I think ¥150m is a tall order. More like ¥130m at most.

Bump may not be as big as I thought. Mite come in at mid 30s. Saturday's screens up to 18% now but pre-sales only up 10%. New release is at 19%. SW7 will win day and weekend.

Shanghai testing 2900 again new 52 week low. It's trying to hold but I think it'll get Fugly.  We'll see another lock limit down soon. Then an intervention announcement will hit. I say it gets to mid 2000 then 30% bounce kicks in. Only to have a retest if the low in a few months. I'm still short SP.will kick and go long soon. I like oil and silver here long too. Going to buy oil on Monday or tues.

While you are speaking about oil, it just dropped 5%. Wonder if it will hit $26.
