peludo
How was the weather?Quite good. Sunny with temperatures between 25º (North) and 35º (South)
peludo
As efialtes said, Brave number seems to be wrong. 1.7 million would be a 19% increase. Ted (-22.2%), Bourne (-41%) and Prometheus (-36%)
lab276
With that kind of weather, those holds are excellent.

Ted (-22.2%), Bourne (-41%) and Prometheus (-36%) Finally, it is not wrong. Brave has grossed 1.71 million € this weekend (+19%). I don't have the total gross (maybe we will have it tomorrow), but given last weekend it had grossed 6.7 million €, it's quite probable Brave has surpassed 9 million € in Spain (11.25 million $)
CJohn
People in Spain loved Brave!I was in Spain 2 weeks ago, and there were a lot of posters of Bourne Legacy in the streets. I also found out that the theater in Ayamonte's La Plaza shopping center closed. I was really sad when I saw that. I usually go to that shopping everytime I go to Spain. Wasn't expecting to see the cinema closed. Edited August 28, 2012 by CJohn

Since September 1st (next Saturday), VAT applied to cinema will increase from 8% to 21%
CJohn
And that could start to be a trend. Since September 1st (next Saturday), VAT applied to cinema will increase from 8% to 21%Oh yeah, that is just bad. The same thing will happen in Portugal. IVA (our VAT) is 13% in cinema. Our 2nd biggest chain is very close to go bankrupcy. Tickets are 6€ for a student, 7€ for an adult, add 2€ to those and get the price of the 3D tickets. Insane. In Spain, I think prices are higher than that in biggest cities like Madrid or Barcelona, but, in general, the rest of the country has similar prices to yours. For reference, I paid 6.90 € two weeks ago to watch TDKR in my city (a medium city with a population of 320,000)
CJohn
Yeah, most cities here have like 80.000-100.000 people. That may justify why movies bomb in those type of cities. And tickets cost the same pretty much everywhere.
