Just a reminder, BAFTA branches vote for winners not the entire membership. Keep that in mind when predicting the winners.

They changed it this year to be like the academy. Which is why I'm not as confident in Haneke winning as I was earlier.

The ceremony isn't live though. You could find out the winners a couple hours before hand on twitter or something. I'm gonna be avoiding that stuff though.

I guess they don't want people to get bored. They edit out some of the littler categories and sometimes shorten acceptance speeches.

I guess the good thing about it not being live is that the ceremony mercifully lasts only two hours

I like the old way better. They picked better winners that way. I would prefer a system where each branch votes for the nominees and the winners. 

 

 

 

How much influence do the BAFTA's have?

 

Quite a bit. BAFTA's coincide with Academy Ballots being mailed out. It can solidify a frontrunner's status or it can propel an underdog to victory. (Or at least bump #2 or #3 up to the #1 spot in the race).
