I suppose they quickly edit out the boring bits. 

 

This. In the actual ceremony they let people go on for ages during their speech, take forever to get up to the podium, do the full introduction clips for each nominee in like every category. During the telecast they'll trim down some of the excessively long speeches, trim down some of the walking to the podium, and replace the nominee introduction with a much shorter version. Of course this only applies to the non-major categories. The actors, and actresses, films, and directors all still get the full treatment on the telly.

I`m nervous about Best ACtress because pundits think JLaw has no chance here.

 

 

They didn't nominate De Niro. It's only got Actor, Actress, and Screenplay. That's it. 

 

 

Les Miserables wins Make-Up and Hairstyling. No surprise here. It should go on to pick this one up at the Oscars as well.
