  1. Maybe Lionsgate is releasing it in mid-August because they know it's not good enough to compete with the heavy summer rotation.
  2. August is a tricky month for movies. It's a month where we see a lot of indies movies or bad studio movies. The only movie to breakout in August was GOTG, but that was release August 1st. Ryan Reynolds needs a hit outside of Deadpool, maybe this one will deliver. His last August movie (RIPD) was a disaster, but that was pre- Deadpool. A non-indie movie coming out in mid-August doesn't bold well for the quality of the movie. Usually, good R rated comedies are release between April to July and at the holidays. The fact this one is in the dumping ground of mid-August is scary.
  3. Another crazed Marvel fan. Nick Fury and Deadpool is not in this movie. Repeat: Nick Fury and Deadpool is not in this movie!!!
  4. Because of this blockbuster age, we have a mindset that any movie opens less than $40 million is underperforming. This notion is pushed by the media.
  5. $20 million opening is a very good number for this type of movie. The budget is only $30 million, so its performing good. I think we are spoiled by these blockbuster movies that make a $20 mil opening seem underwhelming.
  6. We got to wait and read the whole reviews. Good marketing can pull a good quote out of a poor review.
  7. Writer of Logan Lucky and Trump supporter Rebecca Blunt does exist. http://www.istockphoto.com/photo/smoking-redneck-woman-with-gun-and-beer-gm182479602-12019384
  8. Both, Hitman's and Nut are too high. But to another point. We often forget Hollywood is a business and each movie is a business in itself. Every Sunday the media make too big of a deal about what movie was number one or two and the box office numbers. But that not telling us the actual success of each movie. For example, HM and LL opens the same weekend, if HM is the #1and makes 39 mil and LL #3 movie and only makes 15 mil, that doesn't mean HM is a more successful movie. This is because a movie is not in direct competition with other movies. Just like any business a movie is in competition with its negative cost. So HB can more than double the box office of LL, but LL can actually be a more profitable movie.
  9. Nolanites are kinda nuts, which is ok with me.But they shouldn't resort to lying.
  10. Nobody believes you here either. The trailer got applause?Seriously, fanboy
  11. Godzilla, Jupiter and EOT will reach $100mil, Tammy and Storm will stall at $80 mil
  12. Hated OHF, but loved WHDIt's a fucking shame that WHD is not getting a sequel, because fucking Sony screwed up on the budgetWHD actually grossed $40 million more worldwide than OHF. But it couldn't makeup for the ridiculous and unnecessary $150 million budget.

  14. You have to realize WHD is not an over the top scifi film like Emmerich other films. So it was never expected to gross the same as those other movies.
  15. By pushing back WHD one week, Sony has fucked this movie again. There was no logical reason to move this movie back one week to go against tougher competition.Sony did this in America, it was moved from a safe November date to June to compete with the summer blockbusters. They throw WHD in a summer blockbuster lion's den, and it was eaten up.It seem like Sony wants WHD to bomb.
