    I feel bad for Moretz. I really want her to have a big hit. Not that 16.3 million is bad but she seems to be in films that constantly under-preform. IMO she's a really good actress.

    True. I haven't seen the film so I don't really know if it follows the book well. The marketing made it look like a generic YA film though. The characters in the novel are a lot younger than in the film so I'm guessing it doesn't.

    lol no the film looks pretty bad. I'm just saying that if they made a film that didn't look like typical YA trife/marketed it really well it could have been a hit. The book is decent.

    I think the giver could have been successful. Its mandatory reading in a lot of schools like The Great Gatsby. If it actually followed the books instead of looking like a generic YA based film and had a better marketing campaign it could have been a hit.

    The Giver is mandatory reading in a lot of middle schools. When I was in grade 8 we were required to read it. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it lol. It was published in 1993.

    People also forget that fast 6 opened the SAME weekend as Hangover 3 and till managed to almost get a 100 million OW. Fast 7 willl be the peak and then it ill drop from there.

    This is a disney big animation film and disney is on a roll. I don't see how it could be a failure. Unless you consider like 170 million a failure.

    Big Hero 6 got the best reaction at the showings of GOTG and TMNT that I went too.

    Just got back from TMNT I was forced to see it with my cousins. The thing about the film is that it isn't good, but it isn't so awful that it's fun to make of. It's just really bland. I'm curious to see how it's legs are.

    Yeah it was a civic Canadian holiday. It was called Civic Holiday. a lot of people still worked though. So the tuesday jump should not be as good.

    Didn't Expendables 3 leak online? I don't think it's OW will hurt GOTG. TMNT will though.

    First It's going to open to above 90 like 95+. Second Guardians of the Galaxy is a very niche brand. It's unknown to like 99% of the population. I never heard of it before I saw the trailer for this movie.
