  1. Just watched Mr.Peabody & Sherman and I liked it. The main plot is a little messy but it is a fun way to make history interesting to kids. The budget is actually justified IMO will all the historical settings they brought to life. I hope it will have good legs
  2. So Eva Green is the new Internet fanboy darling I guess
  3. Eva Green is fantastic in 300: ROAE! I hope she can get meatier roles after all the raves from critics
  4. 300: Rise of an Empire will unseat SOA next week I'm so amazed with the figures for the top 2 films of 2014. SOA will end with $8M and $7.3M for Bride for Rent! Captain America will be the next big movie on March 26

  7. If you don't give a f.uck about the Oscars, you don't campaign at all or you don't even attend. I'm sure Leo is not losing his sleep with his Oscar losses but he cares
  8. I love Let it Go and happy it won but I agree the live performance was not good and the weakest among the 4 nominees Predictable set of winners, I really hoped for one big major shocker but alas it didn't happen Matthew's speech was not as odd as his last few speeches although he really is a different person now compared to his romcom days
  9. Happy with the Gravity and Frozen wins Ecstatic Her won Original Screenplay I will see 12 Years a Slave on Wednesday when it finally opens here
  10. Congrats on the Oscar wins! Would have love if it won BP but hey 7 wins is amazing! At least Cuaron won (twice!)
  11. I'm so excited for the Original Song nominees production numbers I like all 4 songs, I'm OK with any of the 4 winning but Let It Go winning will make me the happiest
  12. I'm just not feeling the anticipation for Divergent unlike The Hunger Games and Twilight. But I think it will do decently and won't suffer the same fates of Mortal Instruments, The Host etc
  13. I just saw this: http://moviecitynews.com/2014/02/the-weekend-report-80/ In limited release In Secret, based on the venerable “Thérèse Raquin,” failed to translate with a $247,000 debut. Bollywood newcomer Highway was just OK with a $319,000 tally but Filipino newcomer Starting Over Again was boffo with a $650,000 gross from a trifling 52 screens
  14. Top 5 for 2014 so far 1. Bride for Rent - $7.3M 2. Starting Over Again - $6.9M 3. RoboCop - $2M 4. 47 Ronin - $1.89M 5. The LEGO Movie - $1M

  16. I was hoping Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan could have a reunion movie someday which could be like Hope Springs (Streep-Lee Jones). They are still my favorite movie couple after all these years.
  17. True.I miss the kind of charm a Meg Ryan type can bring. The last I saw Meg on TV though, she does not look good maybe because of the plastic surgery
  18. All the Valentines movies had big drops. Winter's Tale was really bad, good thing WB has LEGO to make up for that loss. What happened to old Meg Ryan-type romcoms? The romantic movies on Valentines have been more on the dramatic side. I think romcom could still sell with appealing actors even if the story is predictable,
  19. Vampire Academy, Beautiful Creatures and Mortal Instruments would have been all good material for a TV series, they should have considered that first than jumping to feature
  20. Go Lego! I'm worried for Peabody and Sherman & Muppetts Most Wanted now though, they could suffer the same fate of Turbo and Smurfs 2 after the box office performances of Frozen, Lego and even Nut Job, family audience might pass on those two movies.
  21. Top 5 for 2014 so far 1. Bride for Rent - $7.3M 2. Starting Over Again - $4.2M 3. 47 Ronin - $1.88M 4. RoboCop - $1.85M 5. The LEGO Movie - $915K
