  1. Whenever (if ever) numbers are reported, the mods should put them in the title ASAP. That will save people having to wade through a bunch of lameass babble to get to the good part.
  2. @HamillHimself You two are adorable! Peace & blessings.

  3. Thanks for posting this! I can't go tomorrow but I'll try for another date if its showing here. This would be my only chance to see it in a theater so I'm beyond hyped.
  4. When calculating the net returns on HP:OOTP WB most certainly did claim a loss. http://deadline.com/2010/07/studio-shame-even-harry-potter-pic-loses-money-because-of-warner-bros-phony-baloney-accounting-51886/ My point is that WB, like all studios, will use sleight-of-hand and self-serving spin to make the numbers support whatever case it wants to make.
  5. When it comes to movie profits, never forget tha this is WB we're talking about. That studio notoriously claimed that some of its Harry Potter movies actually lost money, despite raking in from $796M to $1.3B WW per installment. No matter what WB's official party line is regarding BvS' success or failure, their word will always be supect, IMO.
  6. @AllysonAJ @devincf to examine conduct & set standards going forward. He didn't have to justify at all & should get feedback from editors

  7. Many young actors' careers fall off a cliff after a major triumph like starring in a blockbuster of winning an Oscar. Christopher Reeve's post-Superman filmography is grim. The same role did Brandon Routh even fewer favors. Maybe young actors should avoid iconic superheroes.
  8. All of the X-Men movies. The series is po-faced collection of cheap-looking, boring disasters with weak scripts whose one okay episode (X2) appears to be excellent only by comparison to its awful companions. Deadpool at least managed to turn Fox's cheapness into a virtue and avoided the deadening weight of the series' annoying self-seriousness through manic humor and deft characterization.
  9. Wonder Boys is a great film. Of course one particular scene makes it a Tumblr classic in retrospect.
  10. I'm right there with you. Wright's geek idol status is baffling to me. Shaun of the Dead is the only Wright movie I like. The rest are simply uninteresting. Scott Pilgrim might have seemed clever had it been made 20 years earlier. Wright was hired for Ant-Man only because he pitched the movie at the very dawn of Marvel Studios, when very few directors were eager to work with the studio. When he dropped out I was overjoyed. Reed's version was far more enjoyable than any of Wright's films and most of that was due to changes he and the writers made.
  11. @CaptainAmerica #TeamIronMan

  12. Why would WB want to put a 3 hour version of it in theaters? More importantly, why would theater chains want to screen it when the original version hasn't been setting the box office on fire?
  13. @CaptainAmerica #TeamIronMan #CivilWar #Baltimore

  14. No discount Tuesday bump for BvS.
  15. There was more than one person stanning for Fant4stic. I won't name names but that thread was full of people who proclaimed that every image and trailer, no matter how shitty, was absolutely flawless. They lobbied to have clubs and discussion threads closed because they couldn't take any criticism of the movie. And then when Fox finally shat that monstrosity out into theaters its most vocal defenders instantly disappeared. I still can't figure out where all the stans went.
  16. So, when are we getting Tuesday numbers? I'm jonesing like a meth addict here.
