  1. showtime report. 19 theaters, 14 films reported w/ 1,415 combined showtimes from these 14 films. out of 1,415 showtimes Mamma Mia - 12.6% Equalizer 2 - 11.0% Unfriended 2 - 5.2% Hotel Tran 3 - 13.0% Skyscraper - 10.3% Sorry/Bother - 4.2% Ant-Man 2 - 12.9% Purge 4 - 5.7% Sicario 2 - 4.4% Uncle Drew - 1.7% Jurassic World - 6.6% Incredibles - 7.9% Ocean's 8 - 2.5% Tag - 1.7% Hotel 3 stays on top, but Ant-Man almost matches it by retaining almost all its shows from weekend #2. Incredibles still averages more than 1 print showing/theater/day with Skyscraper holding onto 2 prints/day
  2. Equalizer 2 is leading in the poll here suggesting it might be strong relative to Mamma Mia and hit over 30 million. but with a production budget of $62 million, and the first doing 192 million on a $55 budget, https://www.movieinsider.com/movies/-/2018

  4. The poster is looking a little rusty too. Might remind people of the chore it takes to get through the first one from the computer screen point of view. (Hardcore Henry, Searching) The poster situation reminds me of God's Not Dead 3. That one was not showing up on presales either.
  5. This one is still likely to be the #1 sleeper of the Summer IMO. *after reading through this thread, maybe it won't reach those heights. around 25m OW, 75 total. Don't Breath and Lights Out did well, from a surface perspective Slender Man sounds like a Conjuring spinoff coming out a few weeks before The Nun. Polaroid was on the August schedule last year and could have been a chiller like Lights Out, or underwhelmed like Mirrors. *since Slender Man is going against The Meg, well I hope this does not screw both of these movies.

  7. The Darkness and Incarnate had the largest acting contracts most likely with Kevin Bacon and Aaron Eckhart. I don't think any of the other films paid salary above $1 million for any actor.
  8. Unfriended 2 with theater counts a little less than BH Tilts other top releases. Disappointing considering the brand recognition and low budget. 13. the Blade Runner 2049 female hologram. Imagine having one of those being a tutor for all things subjects. Watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 gave me that idea because a girl invites herself over to boys bedroom and assists him with cleaning the bedroom when he was supposed to clean it hours ago. She is asking him where he wants all this stuff to go, basically doing it for him and overriding endless procrastination. Wall-E maybe? idk.

  15. I thought the Beowulf-like animation in Ready Player One was tough to get through, but the movie was good enough for me. Unsurprisingly it fell under my expectations.
  16. part 3 went on after part 4. part 3 is well crafted so far. I remembered it being a bore because it was one of the best ones and always makes near the top of the list when ranking Elm Street movies, therefore there is less junk to look for (Part 2, 5, 6, 7, 8.)

  18. just flipped on A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 and caught the last 1/3. I don't remember much of it, so it took me by surprise. The scenes were great, felt fresh and it was probably one of the best cinema experiences I have ever had.

  20. since pre-sales are going well for Mamma Mia 2 (relative to the likes of MBFGW2), 30 million OW should be safe for this musical comedy. Does Mamma Mia have a potential fanbase brewing similar to what Meet the Parents got? I never saw Mamma Mia so I would have no idea if the sequel and the characters could have the reach that Fockers had.
  21. I would paint myself surprised to find a pair of plain looking mittens in there. even air.
  22. good numbers so far. hopefully the estimates go up after Hawaii is counted
