  1. Ughh. Sorry I'm quoting you with my opinion here, but I worry about DC comics going to Disney someday.
  2. I want to see if Disney uses Fox to branch into horror film and tv. What concerns me is whatever is going on with Time Warner and other companies. I am scared to see everything go to one side, but I do not know enough about that to let it bother me less or more, yet. Do they get the rights to all the franchises?
  3. predicts half of last Saturday = 32 mil that leaves 18 million Sunday-eve and around 25 Friday, 372 total. add 28 xmas and about 30 boxing day, then 20 and 20 for Wed + Thurs = 470. Next weekend could do 20 Fri + 20 Sat + 15 Sun = 525ish. 15 New Years Day, 10 on Tues, 5 on Weds, 4 on Thurs = 559 total. 25m fourth WE - 584 / 650-660 total
  4. these 10 days are going to tell alot about the public response to drastic new product in the film market. Unfortunately, the market is always changing therefore whatever happens will not be set in stone. However, maybe this always happens in December now, I gues...
  5. I hope Mark Hamill starts seeing some late love for his performance. It was as good as anything else this year IMO
  6. yessss. So I'm guessing it is like that all the time. Theater has to play a minimum, they exceed the minimum, then start cutting back. It looks like the film is suffering screen losses, but it still has the security of being shown for a longer length of time. This year, The Space Between Us, Collide, and Just Getting Started shed screens fast. A Monster Calls and Miss Sloane, Jane Got A Gun will go to 1 showing the next week and then disappear the week after. They must not have a multiple showing guarantee, but a print play per day guarantee for a length of two weeks!
  7. is there a chance if TLJ had better weekdays, it would loose fewer of the excess showtimes and instead Ferdinand would start getting cut? Or is it purely Star Wars showings getitng cut since it might have 33% of the prints available at theaters.
  8. off the top of my head, I've been thinking 175 - 250 for Jumanji since the 7m number has been holding.
  9. Transformers has a similar story/history. Transformers 3 and Pirates 4 were $3 7/11 purchases for the garage. I was never driven to be a big fan of either franchise, but somehow all those movies found their way to me, and it was not by the tv. I refused to give up on them.
  10. noon 2D is $19.70 for this location in Newport Beach. the rest of the showings are 3D and cost $23.20. Irvine Spectrum that Asgard mentions has RPX Dolby Atmos going for $19.70. interesting how the Newport one from above does not say Dolby Atmos. I'm sure @Rth Ragnarok knows what's going on with that. A XD theater about 20 miles inland goes for $9 on the matinee but no one ever goes to it, because the other matinees are like $7 at a quality picture and gets everyone in the surrounding area for the best price
  11. no idea, it was always expensive. http://cinematreasures.org/theaters/2915
  12. it is an RPX now. It is a classic big screen. One of the biggest originals in California, I think.
  13. I am looking at Pirates 5 vs King Arthur in the top 50 after viewing 150 (at approx 75 now) films from 2017. Both will be vying for a #45 - #50 spot. Transformers is locked.
  14. Lol it amazes me at the turnaround with films. I watched Pirates 5 over and over again ON Demand until I started to enjoy it. The same thing happened with OST and now it is one of my favorites

  16. Jumanji is looking to be the Passengers of this Winter Holiday season and I expect it to hit 100M!!
  17. Murder on the Orient Express and Daddy's Home 2 are both looking to hit 100M on the same day. Probably Saturday, December 23rd, on their 44th day of release. 110 possible for Express. 120 possible for DH2 depending on how the new films hit. If Jumanji hits DH2 hard, then scratch everything shown above.
