  1. I am going to try to show a sample of total showtimes playing Thursday and then how it changes to Friday. Fandango will help me when I put in a zip code and get 4-5 pages of theaters. I can pick 20 theaters that have 4 or more screens. I would choose 5 or more screens only, but for some reason the Starlight theaters in Southern California are not showing movies by distributor FOX. 4 screen theaters balance this out by making it hard for more than 3 films to make 20 out of 20 theaters. Ok, i will get back to this later. Again, nothing big is coming this weekend. Who is going to get the most of the market? Thursday will have a cumulative total of showtimes that reflect on each individual day from almost this past week or so. Friday, things can change. If you are playing a game or a tournament, this can be useful to lower ranking films at the box office. If you are betting real money, then you probably know this stuff better than me.
  2. Scream 2 requires many rewatches from different POVs Open Your Eyes - Tom Cruise saw this foreign language film starring Penelope Cruz and bought the rights = Vanilla Sky The Rainmaker will be around I do not think Cube would make my 1998 list Anaconda has its fans. I recommend Mimic Directors Cut. I cannot believe Spawn is going to make the top 30!
  3. wow, reading that post about Face/Off and they should get Nic Cage and Travolta together for an action thriller like this.

  6. Are any of the following features stirring anything up, or are December Holiday #'s going to be like Novembers??? It sure is going to be alot of new product. Will Disney support Thor still? Can JL steal screens from Wonder? DH and Murder's legs will be cut off quick. May need an Arrival push to get to 100M. Maybe Bad Moms 2 can take command of second run in week 8. Is Disney going to put Thor in second run theaters in week 8? They would sure command alot of the market then. 11. your right. FB was at 156 and finished at 234. That is 1.5 x 156 = 234. I multiplied 172 by 1.5 to get 258. but that is not the right way to measure it. I just liked the thoroughness of 1.5 times the current gross. I took that number and ran with the highest optimism. Hoping it can finish like DM3, but so far I don't see anything that dropped less than 60% in week 3 from comparison. ....243 total would be an additional 71 million after Sunday. Fantastic Beasts had 156 and finished at 234. That was 78 after Sunday.
  12. FB dropped 60% to 18 million weekend #3. I am hoping JL drops 56% to tie at 18M, but the way this is going, -61% at 16m-ish seems more realistic......
  13. YAY! JL went up! If it performs like FB from here on out, it finishes with 258. FB and DS finished around 230 to 235. I think JL can push past this about 10 million or so. 250 finish sounds good. It is 10m more than all the forecasters are saying. 10m extra late legs!
  14. A hunch. The Pantelion films drop 10% Sunday or even increase. Lowriders had similar Sundays. Large Monday drop corrects Sunday hold. Coco could have large Monday though. It could have regular drop. It could build and hold better and even beat Moana. But if it follows a bunch of other animated movies and has the same Monday to Saturday ratio, then it will have a large drop from the Sunday being reported.
  15. Lots of questions. Will any Money Talks, Nothing to Loose, Fools Rush In, For Richer or Poorer, Father's Day, Murder at 1600, Mad City, Tupac, Kiss the Girls, Metro, Soul Food, 187, Eves Bayou, making the cut? Can The Rainmaker surprise? (I dont know if it has made this list before)... Is Good Will Hunting doomed to show up sooner than later? How about Seven Years in Tibet?.....top 50 or top 150? Event Horizon? Spawn? Will Wishmaster surpass Werewolf? Probably not!
  16. Of these listed above ^^, this is how I'd rank them. 1 Hard Eight - A 2 The Lost World 3 Austin Powers - A 4 Chasing Amy - A (Wag the Dog) 5 I Know What You Did Last Summer - A- 6 As Good As It Gets - 7 Mimic 8 Amistad - A- 9 Devils Advocate - B+ 10 Postman - B+ (Con Air) 11 Air Force One 12 The Ice Storm 13 The Jackal 14 Tomorrow Never Dies - B 15 Batman and Robin - B 16 Alien: Resurrection - B 17 Conspiracy Theory - C 18 The Saint - C 19 The Edge - C 20 The Relic - D+ 21 Volcano 22 Dante's Peak 23 Speed 2: Cruise Control

  18. Figured IKWYDLS would not make the list since Austin Powers hit at #19. I knew I was going to have to do a re-watch with Austin Powers to see where it would move in my rankings. I was surprised how much I loved it. I watched Scream 2 and Austin Powers back to back/ Wag the Dog probably did not get enough votes. same with HARD EIGHTH. LOL, that character that mentors John C Reiley. He is so funny. He answers everything with a question and is this like mystical man of reason and then he guides John C through a gambling scheme to make $$ (Which i found interesting I guess me not watching Con-Air did not good. I expected it to rank low with the rest of the action movies. On my list, I have Austin Powers > Cop Land > Face/OFF >> Game > Devills Advocate > Postman > Air Force > Peacemaker > Jackal > Tomorrow Never Dies > Starship Troopers. I figured Con-Air would flirt around Peacemaker level but maybe I judged that one wrong. I am sure Kiss the Girls would find somewhere around there too. Tomorrow Never Dies I thought was above average. I am glad to see it next to A Devil's Advocate at least. I sort of put it right next to Air Force One somewhere in the low 30's positions. Has anyone else watched I know what you did last summer with the idea that a bunch of people in the town were in on it. During the parade, the rooftop scene. It seems he almost switches bodies. There is a book too.
  19. it is a Kevin Costner western post-apocalypse / dystopia. I could not believe it. All these 20 years I thought it was a super long historical drama. I thought it took place in the 17 or 1800's. LOL. when the movie started, my mind was blown. I Figure it should find a larger audience eventually, unless it already has.
