  1. sigh.... Grace's post is a good set up for a response though. anyone going to get to that? Next 5-10 years should be booked with Fantastic Beasts, DCEU, etc. so despite present BO #s, and despite conversation, Time already has these franchises continuing. what are you going to do, just cancel them? have fun!

  3. https://www.vogue.com/article/jennifer-lopez-wears-an-exposed-thong-dj-khaled why don't they have many male thongs? Can guys do this and walk in public and not get tailed by authorities? Why?
  4. the next few days are going to give a lot of big numbers for Fantastic Beasts 2.... it will be very informing about how close to 200 million it can get after next Sunday 10 previews + 20 Friday + 26 Saturday + 19 Sunday = 75 weekend. 6 Monday + 8 Tuesday + 11 Wednesday + 10 Thursday + 18 Friday + 17 Sunday + 10 Sunday = 45 second weekend, 155 10-days.
  5. I don't know which other thread to put this. It's an obvious analysis anyways. 700 - Black Panther 679 - Infinity War 608 - Incredibles These 3 Disney movies bailed out 2018 IMO and have 2018 tying the last 3 years at the yearly box office with a little over 11 BILLION. Next year should be so lucky!? 700 and 600 million showing up like we have a major sporting event going on.
  6. down to 2,800 theaters. Instant Family up to 3,200 theaters. Looks like Widows got a little box office carved out of it (like Spider's Web), maybe this will be the next movie to get overlooked and shit on when opening day sales happen.
  7. I think Detroit was objectively the better picture. I haven't seen BK, Detroit is like a 9.5/10 for me. I would naturally find it hard for any movie in particular to be objectively better than Detroit.
  8. legalize marijuana! don't fall into the 'Get Out' paralysis trap 😉 time is bad for smokers though... time to walk to the store and get a soda, lol.
  9. I don't care if the Avatar films solve the grand unification theories presented by Stephen Hawking. I need to tend to my mind with outer space sound effects.
  10. He also said he was a “big fan of the 4K disc because it removes the uncertainties of streaming.” “It’s fantastic for the filmmaker to have a physical media that eliminates the variabilities, the compression and so forth,” he said. “That’s the gold standard that streaming is going to have to reach.” https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/christopher-nolan-gets-deg-e2-80-99s-inaugural-e2-80-98vanguard-e2-80-99-award-at-4k-uhd-summit/ar-BBPsCE0
  11. so is this movie boring at all? The previews show Grinch teaming up w/ people to steal Xmas w/ a cheesy floating camera following them around. Is this irritating for the kids who want to see Grinch on a solo run w/ new blueprints to steal Christmas? Or is everyone following the humor positively? Terminator Genisys got a lot of laughs in appropriate places when Schwarzenegger would smile, I thought it was a kids movie
  12. what happened??? must have been the zombie concept. good pre-sales, previews, reviews + JJ Abrams producing promise... WW2 behind enemy lines mission + starpower still a hot concept the days up to release I think what went wrong was the opening day headlines..... 'ZOMBIE FILM!" You get this JJ Abrams WW2 movie on the radar and finally when we are here the advertising casually says 'oh this is a zombie movie'..... something to get people to swing away from initial interest. They should have hid it more so the zombie thing could have carried with potential WOM Remember when Lake Placid was a mystery and the days leading up to opening they previewed it as an old fashioned croc' pic because the marketing got soo wild they had to do it all in the end and only got 10M OW? Serenity 10M OW too.
  13. that would be interesting to see 20 million worth of Harry Potter fans be deterred by Depp, but these people still go to the movies and talk about FB2 in line, but protest see something else..... Crimes of Grindenwald getting the walkup-to-the-window cold shoulder for Instant Fam, Widows, and anything else 'See the thrill seeking movie of November - Instant Family'
  14. Dunkirk aerials are a good one to set up. The potential is huge. Drawing out vector fields above the ocean and map it all out in real time.
  15. well, since Spider's Web should open around 10 or under this weekend, I guess that means Viola Davis's Widows should be coasting into 15-20 million.
