  2. The Force Awakens sold about 100 million tickets. Avg ticket price $9.14 x 100 million = #1 movie all time. This graph explains Avatar 2/3/4 would gain hundreds of millions of extra tickets purchased. Perhaps this is the way to measure box office. Mortal Engines didn't even sell 1 million tickets, Spidey-Verse sold about 4 million tickets. If Spider-Verse gets to 200 million domestic, that would be about 22 million tickets sold which is about 7% of the U.S. population. I hope this brief analysis is wrong
  3. I remember 1999 going to see Instinct and walking by one of the theaters playing The Phantom Menace. From outside the theater I could hear 3PO going "they'll never get me onto one of those dreadful starships"... it felt like I was at Disneyland walking by Star Tours. I was still overhyped from Star Wars, I thought the parking lots were filling up with Star Wars in mind during those months, and it felt like summer movies of 1999 was a Star Wars season, and I kept trying to go to the movies over the summer because the movies felt different in the presence of Star Wars - like the theater was a zoo and there was this rare exhibit. Last year, I went to get tix for The Last Jedi during Star Wars Christmas season and a bunch of kids come running to the ticket window to purchase tix 2 Jumanji..... It was a very very small sample of roughly $20 in Jumanji tickets, but the overall #s spoke for themselves in regards to TLJ vs Jumanji at the domestic box office. It was a sad day that day for the rebellion and it will be another sad day when the new Star Wars...

  6. This could make my top 10 of the year only because my attention span stopped and I could keep up with the pacing of this one.
  7. crazy numbers, can't believe Bohemian Rhapsody made it onto the all-time in Korea
  8. horrible numbers all around. Curious to see if some of the low-budget superhero movies coming the future will generate #s around Venom's.
  9. doesn't sound good. NASA seems very under-employed at 18,000 unless that is only for the Main Base... I'm wondering if that means they turn down a lot of applicants, or *fingers crossed* no one applies. Anyways, it seems NASA has been linked with Walt Disney since whenever so i'm guessing NASA is spending most of their resources on defense or practical human accommodation. NASA + Disney + Star Wars + Avatar/Cameron.... I wonder if Elon Musk gets involved too
  10. oh, I watched Eighth Grade (2018) by A24, it was really good. The pacing and music make the experience nerve racking enough to keep you in focus the entire time. I was a little disappointed there were not many student comebacks to a teacher's opinion about their attitude/behavior, but there is only so much you can do in this 2018 flick and maybe budgeting restraints took away from ideas in the writing process. the main girl nails it though with what life feels like for myself, if only I could sleep more instead of sleep more.
  11. such as The Dark Knight trilogy feeling like it was based on real events and the franchise was a grand adventure, and the DCEU feeling like a visionary tale based on comic books, and the movies being a split adventure that is hard to believe. hehe
  12. but the anti-DC conspiracies could have started with the mild audience reception... 🤣
