Naw, if they thought that it would have stayed in November. I think this move is just so they can get as much money as they can during Christmas because it’s most likely going to bomb. First Man is the main awards push.
Yeah looking at the thanksgiving slate doesn’t five much competiton. I don’t think Fantastic Beasts/Wreck it Ralph is direct competiton either. But Widows and other adult/prestige films that are probably expanding on thanksgiving will take some of its audience.
Yup. The marketing budget was somewhere in the single digits. So relatively inexpensive. I think they also sold overseas rights like they do with most of their films. So they are making a profit of this movie already.
Didn’t ghostbusters have a much younger audience than this is expected to have? I don’t foresee huge preview numbers. Oceans 8 audience will slowly show up over the weekend and likely during the week.
I’m guessing this opens to around 9-10m and with the mixed WOM that people seem to be anticipating from casual audiences—it has It Comes At Night type legs. 20-21m Dom total
I think Wonder Woman should stay where it is in November, however whatever Marvel film Fox has planned needs to move and so should Paramount’s Terminator reboot. They might as well go to December against Star Wars since I don’t foresee either making a dent where they are currently scheduled anyway.
no one asked for newt, which is why his films have turned into a pseudo prequels to Harry Potter's time with the Grindelwald/Dumbledore drama. Alot of fans want a Maruader's era too which i think is next on the agenda.
The new trailer has gone over well with audiences. I don’t think Depp will have any effect. I’m anticipating an increase both domestically and worldwide.
