  1. Just as good the second time, my only real flaw with the film is the villain and stakes are definitely lacking compared to the first movie. But the film is so fun that this feels pretty minor. Jack Jack is a star, he takes cutesy hilarity of characters like Scrat or Minions except isn’t obnoxiously annoying. The animation itself self is a gorgeous blend of realistic environments combined with a classic Saturday morning cartoon feel. It’s really good
  2. My second showing is about to start, just as excited as the first time!
  3. Honestly, I’d probably prefer seeing I2 a third time vs FK a first
  4. Monsters Inc doesn’t need a sequel, as it’s ruin the open-endedness of the ending (which in my opinion is the strongest aspect of the film, really pulls on the heart strings) Docter is a master of manipulating emotions (in a good way)
  5. Yeah, it’s easy enough to say people want something different. But it there is nothing to indicate people are tired of the familiar when that’s almost all of what’s been doing well at the BO.
  6. Has to do with YouTube Red pushing to also be a music platform. I think the Sing trailer gets boosts from music listening.
  7. I got online to get tickets for I2, and had to buy 9:30pm tickets because all of the earlier times at my theater were sold out. Wow
  8. That’s be a genius marketing move. I could also see just using the full sequence as the trailer for TLK, and just that. It’s all you need to sell the movie.
  9. Just saying, TLK non-believers will stop when a Circle of Life trailer drops leaving everyone stunned. That movie is just a matter of how big.
  10. Looking at Disney’s future releases I could see AMATW 210m DOM Christopher Robin 250m DOM Nutcracker 100m DOM Ralph 2 300m DOM Mary Poppins Returns 350m DOM Captain Marvel 320m DOM Dumbo 225m DOM Avengers 4 680m DOM Aladdin 350m DOM Toy Story 4 300m DOM The Lion King 750m DOM Artemis Fowl 100m DOM Frozen 2 450m DOM Star Wars IX 630m DOM
  11. The difference though is that TLK swill end up looking like a VFX wonder. That’s a major BO driving point, as groundbreaking effects often get butts in seats. Theres a reason the #1 DOM (and WW at that) movie of all time has almost always been a technical vfx marvel for its time, with an extra it factor to go with it. If TLK absolutely nails the visuals, taking what was done with TJB and perfecting it, it’d be gorgeous and absolutely standout from the animated version. All of that is a big IF though. TLK is a wildcard, not in the sense we don’t know if it’ll be big or not. But that we know it’ll be huge, but the question is how huge. There’s BATB big, then there’s TI2/BP/IW phenomenon big, then there’s pushing for #1 all time big. I could reasonably see TLK land anywhere in that range. Id be shocked if it didn’t at minimum match BATB though, I’m sure Disney’s expectations are set for at least that level of huge given the prep going into this movie.
  12. To be fair, Finding Nemo was much more popular in its release than Incredibles, and look where we are. That said, I do think BATB is the floor for TLK. I think TLK has a legit shot at the DOM record.
  13. I do think it’s possible we are all massively over predicting TLK, it’s hard to tell with no footage to see where buzz is.
  14. Yeah, the movie definitely didn’t bomb because of a diverse cast lol. That’s nonsense, and if anything it helped it do slightly better than Tomorrowland. The movie simply didn’t look good imo, Ava was the only reason I was interested in potentially giving it a shot.
  15. Except Selma is proof Ava is not talentless, so? Good directors have misfires all of the time, sometimes you start getting into production and things just don’t pan out, despite a clear vision and talent.
  16. Wow, AWIT sure did get a big Father’s Day boost. I had no idea there was such a renewed interest for that movie
  17. Also, I’m wondering how repeat value will be for this? I’m already planning on seeing it again!
