  1. What if Emoji WoM is so toxic that it only drops and never increases, defying all BO standards and cementing its place in history?
  2. If this movie ends up with more reviews than The Big Sick or Okja I'm going to be very disappointed with this forum.
  3. He's also lucky he still has little cousins to take. The ones I used to take are in high school now and don't care about seeing the animations I want to see anymore. I better get a niece or nephew soon to take or I'm going to have to find myself a wife so I can have a kid who I can take to see my Disney movies.
  4. This is playing at a theater about 40 minutes from me. Not sure if it's worth it or not to just wait for it to be available to stream.
  5. Three favorites of the year so far A small budget stunner about race relations A true cinematic experience and A family drama about the beginning of the relationship between the writers of the movie
  6. It's one of the most heartwarmingly honest, yet very funny, movies I've seen in a long time. It felt as if you were watching real life go down in front of you, possibly because you were as this was based on the relationship of the two writers (Kumail and Emily) and the lead actor (also Kumail). None of the jokes feel forced, like they often do in comedies, they just come across as real, honest situations which often have real humor embedded in them. None of the drama feels played out as drama, it's truthful which makes it humanely compelling. It felt like something that could have come from Linklater at his best, just with more biting humor. It's also stitchingly funny and good natured, leaving a smile on your face throughout it, without ever feeling sappy or sentimental. It's like Kumail is simply telling you his story on screen, and the simplicity of it is enough to spice it up. The only real 'flaw' of the movie is the third act stretches a tad bit, but then I'm nitpicking, as im not entirely sure what I'd take out of the third act. The screenplay is also poignant, yet light, in its thematic discussions of culture and the crossing of cultures that happens for Immigrants. It's one of the best takes on that topic that I've seen on screen. It's not overt, and doesn't beat you over the head, it just gives you different topics to chew on. A/A+
  7. GO SEE THE BIG SICK! It's very good. I saw it in a full (small) theater and there are some strong laughs with it. Easily the best comedy of the year, will be in the running for best of the year.
  8. Sony's Smartphone Cinematic Universe presents the AppVengers! All the major App Icons such as Meh Emoji, Angry Bird, Twitter Bird, and That Guy from the Just Dance App you can now get for free on iOS or Android come together to fight off the introduction of WeChat, the Chinese MegaApp that will take away the purpose of all other apps, and learn there's a unique place in the human's heart for every app on their phone.
  9. Also, whatever happened to the adaption of The Stand that was supposed to happen? Seems like a novel ripe for some sort of adaption.
