Continental Europe as a whole seems very conservative. -

People are quick to judge WOM based on some metrics but i don't think those tell you the whole picture.- 23,673 replies

You really don't need premium screens for all those animes, maybe Avatar can hold onto them for a couple months and end with a respectable gross .- 23,673 replies

"Pretty great OW"? It is having pretty great OW pretty much everywhere, except maybe Japan. And China but that is due to COVID. -
Zoe Saldana has singing chops. This is one of the better pieces of new music from Franglen (it's being sung during the film).

It'll do 10m+ admins in France. You can take it to the bank.

It is just one day and we had a worldcup semifinal yesterday. We should at least wait for the weekend...

Nah, at least 50% if not more. Sometimes it felt random, i would think to myself why did they switch here. It was not always closeups in 24fps and action in 48fps. To be frank, i would have preferred the whole movie in HFR, the difference is stark. Those who don't like it could watch a regular screening.

I'd say it gets the job done but the best parts are for the most part Horner's themes they reuse.

As i have posted elsewhere, i group them in two tiers: - the "amazing" tier: T1, T2, Aliens, Titanic - the "pretty great" tier: Avatar, Abyss, True Lies

Yes. It's a bit of a mixed bag. It takes a while until it gets going. Imagine Titanic only that the first half is not nearly as compelling. A 2nd watch might change my feelings. Expectations can be a bitch. It's just my opinion, doesn't mean you or the majority will feel that way.

"it is not a must see anymore" "says who, the reactions that say it's better than the first?" "presales have done a nosedive" "i remain unwavered in my conviction in its box office prospects" . . . Guys, we are going round in circles. 😴

Just came back from the midnight screening (IMAX 3D HFR). Hmmm...... mixed feelings. For long stretches the movie meanders, i wasn't that into it, to be honest. Last third is pretty lit, though. Need to watch it again, maybe i just wasn't in the right mood, or tired. Expectedly, it's a feast for the eyes. Amazing stuff especially considering most of it is CGI. Now i'm going to bed....

I'm no expert in evaluating presales data but $200m would require a lot of walk-up business, wouldn't it? Definitely not impossible since it's not as fanboy driven but man, expectations are getting really high. I don't want to get disappointed when it doesn't quite hit those numbers!
