  1. Any chance some of the threads may have been saved by the Wayback Machine? Probably not but there's hope. I'm glad at least that these forums were around when Frozen came out, I still love looking back on that thread that bright me here in the first place.
  2. I have a relative who absolutely adores Avatar and she's in her 80's. I want to be able to see what Avatar films I can with her, hopefully all of them.
  3. I'm more concerned about the delay for those people who love Avatar and may not live to see the sequels (old age, accident, etc.)
  4. Eywa is referred to as a goddess or the Great Mother. Grace's last words were even "I am with her, Jake. She is real."
  5. Oh I can absolutely see Angela Basset doing the voice, especially hearing her in the Transformers film Bumblebee. I didn't know Whoopi voiced Gaia in that, nice! I do love her as an actress but she does have a very distinct voice and I've seen her in a lot of movies (Lion King, Sister Act, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, etc.) so it would be hard for me to unhear her and connect more with Eywa as a character. Whoever they pick though assuming Eywa gets a voice, I'm sure she'll do great!
  6. I'm hoping you're right regarding Eywa. I love the Genius Loci trope (where a character is a settIng like a planet) https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/GeniusLoci, so I'd love to see Eywa explored more. I wonder if she'll be given a voice later, and if it will be her own voice or more like speaking through the voices of the spirits. If Eywa got her own voice, who would you want to play her?
  7. I think it was that way for the first Frozen as well. The main official trailer focused on Anna, Kristoff, and Olaf, and made it look like a kind of road-trip journey where they'd have to stop Elsa. It wasn't until the "For the First Time in Forever" trailer that came out around September that we got a sense of the songs, the actual plot, and that Elsa was good and a major character.
  8. I feel like Disney would if it weren't for the fact that they own both now, so Either way the top unadjusted movie spots technically belong to them.
  9. Wouldn't be surprised at all if A2 does 1.5B or more in China alone, given how much A1 made there when there was only a small fraction of the theaters they have now.
  10. I'm actually surprised that Endgame doesn't look like it will beat Avatar. Avatar was a standalone film, while Endgame was the crossover culmination of 11 years and 22 movies of probably the biggest film franchise of all time. I adore Avatar, but dang... then again, didn't it have a rerelease at one point?
  11. Just counting the ones I've seen, my live-action remake favorite list is: 1. Aladdin 2. Alice in Wonderland 3. Cinderella 4. Maleficent (if you count that) 5. The Jungle Book 6. Beauty and the Beast 7. 101 Dalmatians
  12. Sure! Snow White: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/snow-white-live-action-works-at-disney-942601 Lilo and Stitch: https://variety.com/2018/film/news/lilo-and-stitch-live-action-remake-disney-1202967403/ Hunchback: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/live-action-hunchback-movie-works-at-disney-1176584
  13. As far as I know, the ones up next to get the live-action treatment are Mulan (comes out next year), Snow White (with music by the songwriting duo who did Speechless), Lilo and Stitch, and Hunchback of Notre Dame (which has been pushed back due to the Notre Dame fire).
  14. Is there a box office thread for the original film? I was trying to find it because I wanted to see how people reacted, but I couldn't find the thread.
  15. Oh really? Huh, I didn't think they were because I couldn't find a thread for the first movie when I searched for it.
  16. I bet if these forums had existed when Avatar came out, the thread would have been insane. I imagine it similar to how the Frozen thread was.
  17. Planning on seeing it this weekend. I've been holding back on listening to Speechless aside from that one preview that came out earlier because I want to be surprised. But I caved and listened to the movie version of A Whole New World and dang I like it a lot! Especially at "Don't you dare close your eyes", Aladdin's actor sounds a heck of a lot like the original.
  18. Huh, the leaves swirling around Anna in that one sticker do seem to indicate Anna might have wind powers. Though I'm thinking fire if anything would make more sense since she was born on the summer solstice, just like how Elsa was born on the winter solstice.
  19. Same! I was curious about how the box office might go and I wanted to see how it went. :) I remember a few of you guys from the first film's thread! Nice to be back with my fellow Frozenites!
  20. I wonder why they didn't release it in the US around the same time as Mexico. It would have been fitting because it would be around Halloween and Day of the Dead, it would surely be in theaters around Thanksgiving, and it would have made a lot more of its gross before being hampered by SW8 (which I loved by the way)
  21. It's definitely going to win Best Animated Feature, no doubt. And I really hope Remember Me at LEAST gets a nomination for Best Original Song. And maybe "When We're Together" from Olaf's Frozen Adventure.
  22. Saw Coco and LOVED both it and the Frozen featurette! Hector was easily my favorite character in the movie. And I did tear up a bit. (Also I have a crush on Hector. ^^) My sister and I saw the movie in IMAX, and we were the only ones in the theater. Gonna see it again in a few hours with our friend who hasn't seen it yet. Also, does anyone know the music that plays at the end of the final trailer? Like around 1:17 onward? I absolutely ADORE the music in the trailer but since that last one's an instrumental I don't know the name.
  23. At the end of "Let It Go" in Frozen, especially sing-along showings. Every time Neville appeared on screen in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. I felt bad for people who hadn't read the book and had no idea why all of us were clapping and cheering. XD
