DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE | Jul 26 / 2024 | Disney

Is the appeal still gonna be there if the GA is tired of the whole genre in general? I don't see people begging for Spaceballs 2 at the moment I'm not even saying "omg totally CMB fatigue hardcore and everything will flop from now on" but I say it's wishul thinking that DP will be somehow imminue the fatigue of the very genre it's actually part of and occasionally parodying -
That's understandable but why not just call her then the new young hot Madame Web, getting the torch passed from the old mentor one and keep the Spider-Woman title for other character like Gwen or these other 2 girls in the trailer? As it stands its just confusing to potential viewers because the movie suddenly has 4 spider heroines with no focus on either. Yes Dakota including, she's in Tom Hardy/RDJ's age-range visually speaking so the messaging is very unclear whos origin story is this suppoused to be and whether the 3 younger girls are just helper minimes aka Robin/Batgirl or future main Spider-Fem-Counterpart

But access to bigger library of IPs and a larger security blanket thanks to increased dolla size of the company allows less desperate shitty sequels one after another. If Disney didn't have Marvel and Avatar, you think they would EVER allow this kind of a pause for SW films? Nah Look at Sony and what happens when the entire company is basically just Spider-Man..

This won't flop but I gotta wonder if it's gonna show major CMB fatigue effect even if the quality is there. I just don't see the peak-Marvel era hype returning anytime soon. NWH was the last breath of it IMO from what I gather based on the numbers and andecdotal evidence among friend&family audience. I think GA in nig part is just done with the shtick for a while. Of course the absymal additions from Sony and DC only helped here. As did the devalutation of CMB cinematic experience with these D+ shows. Though Star Wars got its even worse in that regard -
Everything about this looks like shit. Big miss IMO for Sony esp since I think it could've worked. I don't know much about the Spidey universe but at the very least that Julia Carpenter costume is vaugely familar to the GA millenial audience like me. So I would've started with that and built the film around her. The other 2 girls is just too much and I had zero clue who they were suppoused to be (plus the 3rd one, Spider-girl?, already has a costume too similar to Julia). If they're trying to build a Spider-Woman character for the franchise they can't suddenly have 4 of them at once... WW and Ms. Marvel proved it can be done. Sequel floppage is a different story Quick google research also made me immediately interested in the old-blind-lady design for Madame Web so that's already a potentially good formula right there? Just have her fill the quasi mentor anti-hero role for young Julia ala Batman Beyond and focus on the relatonship between the two. If they were able to score one of the veterans in the vein of Helen Mirren/Glenn Close for the old Madame role it would've helped alot too with wideo appeal. But oh well, DOA and another nail in SCU coffin. And good riddance.

LUL no, sequel and same action flick like the first one would suck for their on-screen reunion. With better or worse results By The Sea is exactly what they should've done, something completly different than Mr. and Mrs. Smith -

Second Trailer: + Production notes -
Same reason I only watched it once. Characters were so basic and calculated it was painful. Cameron should be directing these flicks but not writing them in ideal scenario.
