  3. I was approaching my sophomore year of high school when this thread first dropped. Now I graduated college and work at a recruiting agency. I feel so uneasy by all this.
  4. It doesn't matter if a thread is dead or not. If a mod tells people to stop, you listen and respect their wishes. And if you absolutely have to talk about China's supposed manipulation and want to argue with folks about it, you can just make your own new thread. We have a whole subforum dedicated to Chinese box office. If you want, you can make your own thread there and argue with people in that section to your heart's content. It's totally fine. https://forums.boxofficetheory.com/forum/73-china-at-the-box-office/
  5. Can I just vent right now that I really hate they're putting tickets out on a Thursday? I already have to look at two other movies, even though they're total no1currs, so when I get around to tracking this on its first day, it'll take me like...three hours to compile everything up. I hate it!

Uncharted Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-18 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 54 166 10233 1.62% Total Seats Sold Today: 79 Comp 0.281x of F9 T-18 (2M) 0.779x of The Suicide Squad T-18 (3.19M) 0.413x of Venom 2 T-18 (4.79M) And you all were all so concerned. This isn't out of the woods yet, but this really does emphasize just how important the "tickets on sale" date really is, even when a film gets a soft launch. I'll be adding in Ghostbusters tomorrow into my comps.
  7. I did a cursory glance about an hour ago, and already Uncharted's got a very strong leapfrog in today's sales. And while this is based on an established property, I don't really see Uncharted as something with a huge fan rush to buy tickets the first day, more of a "big boost on the final week" kind of deal. Could be wrong of course.
  8. It could also be accounting for reopenings after the Nor'Easter and Saturday demand rolling into Sunday
  9. Moderation Guys, please do not feed the troll.

  12. Theaters everywhere have showtimes for Uncharted live and ready. Either the chains got the wrong memo, some intern that wasn't working on Sunday just wanted to get the job over with, or some other third thing happened. 🤷‍♂️
  13. Honestly I was more uncomfortable with Licorice Pizza than this. The film is fully aware and makes it 100% obvious that Mikey Saber's actions are abhorrent and wrong. Licorice Pizza never feels explicit and ends on a weird note that just makes it feel a little more weird IMO
  14. Uncharted Greater Philadelphia Area Seat Report T-20 and Counting Sellouts Showings Seats Sold Total Seats Perct Sold TOTALS 0 53 78 9757 0.80% Comp 0.146x of F9 T-20 (1.04M) 0.410x of The Suicide Squad T-20 (1.68M) 0.223x of Venom 2 T-20 (2.58M) I'll admit I couldn't think of any good comps for this far out in a film's run, but I think these suffice fine? It's pretty all over the place in terms of numbers, but this was basically a soft launch two days before the official Sunday bow, so I guess it's a little silly to say anything definitive at this point in time.
  15. So I just watched CODA. Great film, and now I'm mad I didn't see it earlier, because the "Both Sides Now" scene would have absolutely been in my Best Scene shortlist. Like the rest of the movie, it really touches you in all the best ways.
