The funniest thing was how one of them (you can probably figure out which one) was arguing about how Second Act was going to have Greatest Showman legs and make like 170M or something. But even with this only making like 40M, they're still trying to spin this as a massive success and saying stuff like "It managed to beat Holmes and Watson. STUNNING" or "Only the big tentpole movies made more. If this had a 100M budget, it would've made even more money. J-Lo's a true draw". Like obviously this is still successful, but...really?

Wasn't really all that interested in seeing it. I might see it when the sequel comes out.

I guess that counts? But I feel like Big Sick focused more on being commercial rather than awards consideration.

To be fair, just about all of the movies Amazon has self-distributed were either super niche or flat-out sucked. This is arguably their first major awards contender since Manchester by the Sea.
