What's worse? What Willy did to those kids or what Scott did to those Tots?

It's kind of a combination of a lot of things, but the big ones are a combo of theaters needing new product that Hollywood couldn't provide due to COVID/strike logjams, so non-English productions are given better play and availability, as well as Netflix/other streaming services making non-English media, including stuff from India, a lot more accessible to new viewers. Fairly easy these days to get the Anglosphere on board with Indian productions when you actually give them the option in the first place.

How does Epic Movie fit into the equation?

This happens a lot here for some reason. I remember a few weeks ago a user posted, "oh man, even if The Marvels gets Elemental-style legs, it's still gonna flop big time" and a whole bunch of dudes came out saying "WAIT SOMEBODY THINKS THE MARVELS WILL GET ELEMENTAL LEGS MARVEL FANS ARE SO STOOPID". Like...no. How about you read what the guy says instead of getting easy likes? It's so annoying.

This was basically Timothee's audition to be a Disney Prince, and I wholeheartedly approve.

I'll keep things brief, because I know people hate me bringing this NTC stuff up for some reason. I even made a point to say that Color Purple doesn't really fit in the same way as Barbie or Little Mermaid since, yes indeed, Celie and Mister toys aren't being sold. So yes, it's not actually an NTC. But I mean, if you don't think Color Purple wasn't greenlit because of the popularity and fond memories people have over the classic Spielberg movie and think they aren't trying to get older viewers' attention by selling them something they are familiar with when they were younger...well, I wish I was you. I really, sincerely do.
