Using other Hispanic movies as comps: -Instructions Not Included biggest sunday drop was only around 30%, with it usually either dropping in the single digits or even increasing from Saturday. -How to Be A Latin Lover's biggest Sunday drop was 21%. It almost always increased from Saturday or only dropped in the single digits. -Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos always had a Sunday increase from Saturday. For whatever reason, movies targeting Hispanic crowds have great Sunday holds.

So I just got an e-mail from an Advance Screenings site that a local Philly theater will be showing an advance screening of this film...two days from now. So they're showing a movie that won't come out for another three months in advance...I don't know whether that's a good thing or a bad thing.

It's nice to see that the post-Thanksgiving holds weren't that bad. I know part of it is because there were no new wide releases and the TC drops were super low, but it definitely seems like things have held much better than in previous years. Coco's hold was very solid, considering films like Moana and even Frozen dropped over 50%. With weaker family competition, BH6 numbers seem super likely, which is absolutely great for a film that many thought was gonna disappoint or even bomb. Justice League was Justice League. Wonder and Thor continue to do solid, and both will likely hit new milestones relatively soon. Orient and Daddy's Home 2 are still going great. Hopefully TC drops and Christmas legs are kind to them, as they both try and cross $100M. Specialty-wise, this was the real highlight of the week. Lady Bird and 3 Billboards did great in expansion, and it's wonderful to see both movies break out in wide release. CMBYN dropping only 30% is also great, and I hope it earns a solid expansion. Oh, and Darkest Hour did good too. Disaster Artist and Shape of Water also did phenomenal. Their PTAs are strong, and while I'm a touch concerned about their breakout potential, if both of them can make it around $50M give or take $10M, I'd say it's a win. Wonder Wheel...not so much. Poor Kate Winslet, and poor Amazon for such a rocky fall after a relatively solid first three quarters.
