  1. I mean his only blockbusters are Dune (which he is great in and is arguably not his usual fare) and Wonka, which I have faith will be adorable. He is still doing excellent work in indies and dramas, and that's the majority of what he is still doing even after he found acclaim and success. That's a big risk, but he's still doing it.
  2. I mean...James Cameron's always had corny dialogue in his movies. That's a very important part of his charms as a filmmaker
  3. You laugh, but it is a little weird the lack of fanfic, if only because the Na’vi are tailor made for horny sickos. Neytiri as a character has like 30 fetishes built into one, and you’re telling me the Internet doesn’t have a million weird self-insert smut fanfics? It’s craziness!
  4. I mean the 3D was cool I guess, but I don’t think I needed to see it and probably would have preferred it in 2D. The Avatar 2 scene was cool
  5. Honestly I don't really care about Nolan. I just think calling him "Papa Nolan" is really funny. I do the same thing with "Papa Feige".
  6. It's one of those day-and-date things where you can get it on PVOD right now. Outside of 2021 and the occasional Peacock release, this stuff is typically not given a big theater push even in 250 locations and I think this was always meant to be straight to digital for whatever reason. But theaters need something to play, so 242 locations it is. I'm sure if this came out in 2023, they would have given this a wide release with a big ad campaign to capitalize on TGM's coattails.
  7. Deadline Top 10 is finally up Super Pets and Black Phone are in a real neck-and-neck fight over who will get into the summer top 10 in the end, especially with Super Pets coming onto HBO Max on Monday. Very fascinating
  8. That one for sure doesn't count in the same way it doesn't count for Curse of the Black Pearl or Country Bears. It's still adapting a ride and taking material from the ride into the movie. I do think Woman King also clarifies as an original here. The film says it's "Inspired by True Events", but it's still a fictional story with largely fictional characters apart from John Boyega as the king.
  9. Avatar's Friday # is real bad you guys. This film cost like a trillion dollars to make and will only get to a 13M opening? Looks like James Cameron won't ever show his face in town again
  10. Not a singer, but this reminds me that when the first Santa Clause movie came out, Tim Allen had the #1 movie in America, the #1 TV show in America, and the #1 best-seller on the New York Times. There was a brief time in the 1990s where Tim Allen ruled the world. And that is terrifying
  11. Moderation @Firepower has been threadbanned for 24 hours for these gross sexist comments, in a deliberate attempt to troll and get a rise out of people. This "is Halle ugly" convo is also done. If you continue this, you're getting threadbanned and going to hell. Thank you.
  12. Moderation Please don't spoil what's in the Way of Water post-credits footage. It's not fair to people who haven't/won't be able to see it.
  13. There was discourse on Twitter a couple months ago when some Euphoria stan learned Lexi's a nepotism baby. They said Maude was the daughter of Leslie Mann and "some movie director". These kids today really have no idea what we had back then and it's kind of terrifying
  14. My Coen Bros countdown is set to launch in late October and end on Thanskgiving weekend. Is there any objections or potential conflicts over this?
