I'm very much of the belief that if a movie needs to be seen in 3D/IMAX/Dolby/whatever, then that's a sign the movie doesn't hold up or stand on its merits, and that it needs a bunch of bells and whistles for you to get something out of it. I saw Avatar for the first time a month ago off my TV, no 3D or anything, and I loved the movie, because it's just entertaining and exciting, regardless of what format it's on. That's the same case when I saw Gravity on TV, Dunkirk and Dune in standard 2D, and so on. Even disregarding the premium costs, if you need these extra bells and whistle to actually enjoy a movie, then does that mean the movie's actually good? I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but that's how I've always felt with this whole format discourse.

I'll admit that I thought the 300M predictions people were spouting after CinemaCon were a bit too hyped up from the CinemaCon reactions, which are always grain of salt-worthy. And while I don't want to say anything like that will happen just yet...this is more believable to me. -

No, about 23 days before release. -
Character-driven family fantasy adventure comedy. Lead protagonist has a snarky, cocky personality, with quips and one-liners for days that result in easy chuckles for the audience, and has a heart of gold deep down that makes him easy to root for. Lead character is down on their luck and struggling to find their identity, giving an easy, relatable conflict. They are thus thrust into a world he is unaware of and is either granted with or always had fabulous secret powers. A big baddie then comes along to bring destruction onto the world, through some variety of magic, science, or both. Often they have a backstory. Numerous fight scenes through green screen and snazzy special effects ensue that gives the hero purpose and understanding about who he is, culminating in a big battle with the hero saving the day. There's numerous sequel teases, alongside references to other movies, followed by a post-credits scene that gets everybody talking. Hope this clears things up.

Just as a heads up that for Top Gun 2, there's a Tuesday IMAX fan screening at a lot of theaters and a Wednesday AMC Investor screening. Another one of these things... -
Still, those shows are nothing compared to WandaVision. I'm happy for the people who got something out of it, but I don't understand why people say it's the best show and I never will. It was just a nonsensical smorgasbord of ideas and characters thrown together with an unfunny framing device, with an utterly atrocious final episode in all respects IMO. Teyonah Parris and Kathryn Hahn deserved better. A good chunk of my excitement for this movie is just to see the Multiverse plot done properly.

Loki and Falcon & Winter Soldier have some of the most glacially atrocious pacing I've ever seen. You could turn both of those shows into 2.5 hour movies and nothing would be compromised or lost. Don't know if it's because Papa Feige has no clue how to make TV shows or what, but it's frankly ridiculous.
